Heather and Doron Silverman: One Messed-Up Couple
Well…where to begin with this Ohio couple? We can start with Doron Silverman, who recently had to defend himself against a charge of ‘gross sexual imposition” for allegedly molesting his 4-year-old son, Mikel. Silverman vehemently denies the claim, saying that police “tricked” him into giving a confession; he only confessed to the crimes so that he could go home. Smells like bullshit to me. As a father, I would never admit to a molestation I’d never committed, just so I could get out of jail. If you feel the police are pressuring you – well, that’s what the magic words “I wanna speak to my attorney” are for. A jury appeared to agree at least in part; after two days of deliberation, they found Doron not guilty of rape, but liable for the imposition charge.
But the accusations against Silverman, whether you believe them or not, have already left devastation in their wake. Shortly after the accusations came to light, his wife Heather Silverman pleaded on her MySpace page for someone to pray for her family, as it was about to be ripped apart. Apparently, Silverman was annoyed that God was working so slowly, and decided to take matters into her own hands by setting her house on fire. The blaze killed both of her kids, four-month-old Kaylee as well as Mikel.
Heather Silverman also denied the charge against her and entered a not guilty plea – despite allegedly confessing to police. (Damn, the cops are just out to GET this couple, aren’t they?) But she won’t be convicted any time soon: a judge has ruled her currently incompetent to stand trial. Prosecutors are biding their time until Mother Silverman can be restored to legal competency, and face the murder and arson charges against her.
On the blog The Space Behind, a commenter named Mike rips on that blogger for being bigoted and intolerant:

Impressive. If only such people could get that worked up about molestation and murder…

Hi, I am Mikel and Keylee’s aunt. I can’t really say much right now. I just want to say that I appreciate that people are remembering what happened to these precious babies and are standing up for what they believe in. Mikel was the most wonderful young boy that I have ever met and he was that love of my life. Keylee was beatiful and sweet natured. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to get to know her very well. Please help us keep these children’s memory alive!!!

This started years ago. It was when Doron was just reaching puberty. Many of us felt he was being molested by a close family friend and religious guide. But, he never said anything as he got so many perks in return. And, no one could prove it. It was just one of those things that we felt was happening and could do nothing about.

Added note to what I just said. I also wonder if this religious leader knows how much he messed up Doron’s life. He said that he was gay but never did anything to young men that would hurt them, and yet not saying with he did or did not do. I think he was wrong. He did hurt Doron very much.

I feel for them. I believe we shared a mutual acquaintence.
In any case, I came from a family where molestation was prevalent.
My sister and brother both believe they were molested and in light of how their lives have turned out its not hard to believe.
When I called him a scumbag to this mutual acquaintance, he seemed to tenderly believe he did not deserve life for his crimes but could not discuss it. I know understand why.
The children were blessed in this. Your loss is unfortunate, however for them to pass up a life living with an infested understanding of the subject, is a blessing to them I assure you.

I knew Mikel. I never got to meet Keylee. Mikel was one of the most special people i had ever met. I, along with everyone who knew him, will forever be grateful that i got to know this wonderful boy. Heather and Doron are sick bastards that deserve what their Maker has for them in the after life. I feel badly for the Silverman family b/c i know how much they blame themselves. It’s not their fault. The fault is placed on Heather and Doron b/c they are ultimately responsible for what they did to those children.

Are you kidding? He still talks to that stupid Rabbi. The Rabbi is helping him appeal his conviction. When Doron gets out of jail, let the Rabbi take him in b/c no one else in their right mind would.

That Rabbi has a mentally ill obsession for Doron.
Many thought this back when Doron was 11-12, or about that age. Doron had a personality that was easily controlled with constant gifts and activities, and being treated as a god. Didn’t his parents see it? Why did they keep pushing him to be around the Rabbi as much as possible? Rabbi? He has no right be be called that, let alone with a capital ”R”.

No, I almost pity him-he had a strange upbringing.
But, there was a group of 3-4 boys who hung around with the Rabbi, day and over night, and Doron was arrested for child molestation, when he was about 11—-records sealed, but the media found them. The Rabbi was in there someplace. Yes, Doron did molest someone in his own family—–he raped his 4 year old son.

Heather needs the death penalty…killed her own children when it should have been Doron in that fire. Then she would have a world of supporters. Now she’s hated as much as him. Mothers need to protect there children, Now this bastard will be out of jail in 5 years to have sex with another child. I hope he gets the same treatment he gave his son in jail.

Please, don’t lose focus. Doron and Heather made terrible decisions. Please don’t let this turn into a hateful thing. Two children are in Heaven where they will forever be angels. The Silverman family is 100% devestated and will be for ever. The children will never come back. No matter WHAT happened to Doron and/or Heather in their lives doesn’t make them rapists or murderers. They grew up with common sense. Common sense doesn’t tell you to rape and kill your kids. Common sense tells you to love them unconditionally and protect them. Neither Heather nor Doron did that. They are selfish monsters who deserve the death penalty.

I would like to say to the people who are blaming the Silverman family that you need to stop talking about things you don’t know about. You didn’t grow up with Doron. He is a pathological liar and so, anything that you have heard from his mouth is not trustworthy. If you think that Doron is the way he is because he was molested, I will have you know that Doron was molesting others before he even met the Rabbi. And another thing, Doron was given all the opportunities in the world to be a successful adult. His parents are absolutely wonderful people and are guilty of nothing, but trying to raise a child with defective genes.

I’m for preserving Mikel and Keylee’s memory and remember how full of love and life and beauty Mikel was. I’m for appreciating the time I had with him and learning to let go of the regret I have for not taking advantage of opportunities I had to be with him when I had something else going on and didn’t go up to meet Batya to play with him. I’m for remembering the first time we met and how he ran and climbed up on my lap and cuddled in with his blanket and the tantrum he threw when he had to leave and was so dramatic it was stunningly hilarious. No sane person would be “For” doron or heather. Nobody advoacates child molestation and murder, do they? I hope not. To have known this child, to have had the pleasure, well, i’m lucky. Whoever knew him was lucky. And for anybody blaming the Silverman family-that’s ugly. That’s an ugly thing to say. Mr. and Mrs. Silverman are two of the most honest, kind hearted, loving, genuine, and empathtic, caring people I have ever known. Don’t do that. Just remember how much life and vivacity Mikel had and how he loved to put the labels on the pages and put the pennies in the drawer. and “Samay, Babay”.

It has been exactly a year since Mikel Silverman took his last breath. Two days ago was a year since Keylee Silverman was killed in that house. The pain is so immense that it feels like it might never go away. What I want you all to understand is that Mikel and Keylee are not just victims of heinous crimes. They are bright, beautiful, spectacular children with the grace and kindness of divinic beings. I want you to know how Mikel’s smile and his sweetness filled people with absolute joy. They brought a light into my life that has transformed me. Those children were taken away, but that light will never, ever die. That is the one thing no person or act can take away from me. My last little bit of my sweet angels safely tucked away in my heart away from the world’s evil. Thank you everyone for keeping their memories alive.

I heard from a friend that knows, the prosecutors are going to seek the death penalty for Heather Silverman.
