Irene Garcia and Trevor Morena Shake Their Two-Month-Old Daughter, Cause Brain Damage and Broken Legs

trevor-moreno.jpgTrevor Duane Moreno, 30, and his wife Irene Garcia, 23, of Bishop, Texas were charged with child abuse when their two-month-old daughter Rayden was diagnosed with brain damage, broken legs, knees and ankles. She’s currently in intensive care.

San Juanita Garcia, Irene’s mother, told deputies she went to her daughter’s home and saw that Rayden was grayish pale and limp. She said her daughter wasn’t concerned with Rayden’s condition and felt they didn’t need to get the baby medical help.

In a conflicting statement, Trevor said he left his home with Rayden and his 3-year-old daughter, Alyssa to pick his brother up from the airport. Along the way, they flagged down a state trooper to get emergency treatment for Rayden, who wasn’t waking up for her bottle.

irene-garcia.jpgRayden’s sister told a forensic interviewer that they were home when saw her dad hit her sister in the stomach. Alyssa said he did it because he was mean. Police are now investigating if he abused Alyssa as well.

Both parents are being held on a $150,000 bond. Alyssa is staying with her grandmother. I just hope Alyssa is allowed to stay with her for a long, long time – like until it’s time to leave for college.

YES! That is what I’ve ALWAYS said… forced sterilization… at least until they are 25 years of age, take test after test to prove that they are drug-free, mentally stable and can provide a healthy, nurturing, LOVING environment for a child. Sure, there will still be cases, but I am 100% positive that the number will decline dramatically. Save these babies BEFORE they are born.

I’ve read WAY too many cases of Shaken Baby Syndrome. It is plain old nauseating. WTF are these people thinking???

After reading the stories on this blog, I am seriously reconsidering my thoughts on forced sterilization.

Thank GOD this baby is not dead. I only hope she can recover from the brain damage to lead a normal life.

It boggles the mind to think of inflicting that kind of pain on a child, especially your own. Frustration is a part of parenting. Never upon pain of death should that be taken out on a child verbally or physically. While the verbal will resound for years, the physical can prove fatal. I just can’t imagine his thought process while he was killing his baby.

Some people should come with labels and directions.

Ok. So we live in a country where the accused is innocent until proven guilty…and this is only a blog. So let me ask..why was it not posted that..Irene had been found to be postive for drug use..and that Trevor..had admitted to using drugs as well? AND that he had admitted to causing harm to his child..yes..sometimes..we think and accuse before all facts are in..but sometimes..we let up..and then more harm is done. I’m not saying…that we know what happened..what I am saying is…as parents..we are responsible..for our actions..and protecting our children. Rayden and her sister are better off not being with their parents..and that is a fact. So if your biggest concern is their well being you’d see beyond the obvious and realize…that..they..Trevor and Irene..had no right..being parents..

It’s important to remember the original post is a Blog and not a news story. The headline of this original post sounds as though Irene participated in the alleged shaking of Rayden. According to LEGITIMATE NEWS sources (Corpus Christi Caller Times, MSNBC), Irene is accused of a crime by ommision, not by commission, meaning they think she did NOT participate in the alleged abuse, but rather failed to report it. Trevor wasn’t the only one to have access to his daughter on that road trip to San Antonio either. The Caller times says he picked up a friend along the way. Affidavits say 3-year-old Alyssa reported that she saw her daddy hit Rayden in the stomach, but the hospital reported evidence of shaking, not hitting. Whatever happened to Rayden, it’s a tragedy. She and her sister are my biggest concern. All I’m saying is that we still live in a country where the accused is innocent until proven guilty by a jury of peers. I think I’d hold off on lynching these parents until ALL the facts are in.

Melissa is right. Look at a 2-month-old child sometime and tell me how you can punch her in the stomach and still look at yourself in the mirror without vomiting. Monsters.

The mom is a selfish, evil idiot who got together with this stupid human/monster and they both participated in this…How SICK! Maybe someone should punch them in the stomaches see how they like it? I always wonder what in the world would a little helpless baby do to deserve this? Nothing….just stupid parents!

Yes. Monsters are definitely real. And they walk among us with their human masks. Anyone who can harm a child is, indeed a monster. Punching a two month old baby in the stomach, shaking her until her legs are broken…that is inhuman. However, what really bothers me about these cases is the complicity among the adults involved. How could Rayden’s mother stand by and let these things happen? How could she play off her baby as not needing medical attention when she obviously did? I hope those children are placed with someone who will show them the proper love and care they need.

I don’t believe anyone that’s talked about on this site is 100% human. Face it…we live among monsters who are in hiding.

All 2-month-olds want is to be fed, kept dry and warm, and held close to know that Mommy and Daddy are there for them to keep them safe. These people are monsters and genetic freaks of nature. Why did they have another child? When I think of my precious son at that age, my God. I was so gentle with him and I treasured him so.His comfort was my comfort. What defect causes the behaviour of the monsters on this site? Are they even 100% human?

These people are absolutely sick! I can’t even imagine how hard you would have to shake a baby to give her two broken legs. I’m new to this website and it is unbelievable to me that this stuff happens. It makes me love my daughter more than I can even stand. I don’t understand what goes through some people’s minds. I’m just happy this little baby survived and will hopefully never have to endure abuse like this again from people who are supposed to love her or anyone else again.
