Charalletta and Manual Hernandez Abuse Their Six Children, Live in Squalor
Charalletta Hernandez, 37, and Manuel Hernandez, 40, of Fort Myers, Fla. are charged with multiple counts of child neglect. Their six children were removed when one of them told a neighbor about the abuse. When police arrived they found that the home lacked electricty and food, and smelled of human waste.
One of the children, a 10-year-old girl, was systematically tortured and abused. The mother singled her out because she though the girl was involved sexually with an grown man. The sherriff’s office doesn’t believe there was any sexual activity.
The girl said her mom repeatedly beat her. She was also locked in her room and wasn’t let out to use the bathroom. To bathe, she used the hose outside, and her only meals were the ones she got at school, unless one of her siblings snuck her food. She also was forced to sleep outside on a piece of cardboard. She told police she didn’t report the abuse because she was afraid of her mother.
So here we have a mother who tells a 10-year-old that if she wanted to be like a dog, then she should live like one and sleep outside. Hope they put her folks in a kennel for a long, long time.

I’m sorry but I have to agree with “sadness” about this. I know it’s not politically correct to say but it’s the truth. Anyway, they should be punished very harshly for what they did to those kids.

There ought to be several psychological test to pass before people can have children. Everyday it seems, there’s something in the news about children being treated like lower than dirt cause their ‘parents’ aren’t fit to be parents in the first place.
It’s also a sad cycle, because as those children mature and grow up, having children themselves-they treat their kids the same way. It’s so sad, no child ever deserves to be hurt by any abuse-especially by those that are supposed to love and protect them.

When my sister was 12 my mothers 28 YO friend had sex with her..
What did my mother say?? She said my sister was at fault… At which time after I picked my jaw up off the floor, I grabbed her by her colar and explained how F**** up she must be… I explained nicely, I think, that I would now have custody of my sister a she was obviously not fit.
I had a friend in college one day we went to have lunch annd she told me how her father molested her for years… She was taken away by DCF for other reasons and only learned that being molested by your father was bad then.
Once the other girls told her.
So charges never filed… Years later…
Any time her mother felt nedglected she would call my friend and accuse her of having sex with her father… her BIO father…
Lets note the mother was just jealous.
She did not file charges.

I would never blame any of my future kids for having sex with my future husband! Charalletta and Manual Hernandez are extremely stupid to abuse their kids (and they’re happy about their stupidity)! BTW, I agree with Bridget!

Bridget has it right! I know this family, and the mom thought the daughter was having sex with the step dad. Just had to fill in that detail, she obviously has mental issues. The Mom that is, I hope the daughter can get some counseling.

Bridget, you are a really awe-inspiring person.
My initial reaction was similar to DP’s, but then I realized that there are two kind of moms in the world: those who would see her daughter as possibly having been hurt and want to protect her and those who would blame her–and, I think, as Bridget points out, those two camps are coextensive with the “nonabuser” and “abuser” camps.
So, maybe people who ever express a view that girls who are the victims of sexual abuse are “sluts” and “asking for it” shouldn’t ever, ever be allowed to have kids.

That part was what didn’t surprise me at all, actually. My alcoholic mother accused me regularly of having sex with my stepdad (which, for his many faults, he never did)since I was 11 years old. It stems from acute insecurity on the abuser’s part and in my mother’s case was silly since she was quite pretty before the booze caught up with her.Once, when she was yet again pregnant with one of my siblings that she chose to abort (she kept me and then told me often how she SHOULD have aborted) she slapped me in my crotch and told me,”You think with this,”. I was 8 or 9 years old. The way some people’s brains are wired, there is just no explaining it. I knew from an early age what a nutjob my mother is and left at 16.

WTF?! You punish a ten year old for being victimized by an adult? I realize that police do not think the girl actually was sexually abused, but clearly the mother’s thought process in that sitation tells me that, indeed, she must be from another planet. Christ!

Why is it that those that have the least common sense and parenting skills, have the most children? A sane person would have difficulty with 6 kids but couple that with pure stupidity and this is what happens.
Her tubes should be removed as well as his testicles. That’s only the beginning of what I would do to them, given the authority. They are poster children for contraception.
