The Case Grows Around the Murder of Jolyn Torpoh By Her Mother Susie Ida Quartey
UPDATE: In Aurora, Colorado, Susie Ida Quartey, the Ghanaian health-care worker accused of abusing her three-year-old daughter Jolyn Torpoh, is now charged with child abuse knowingly and recklessly causing death, i.e., homicide. If convicted, she’ll get four to 48 years in prison.
Quartey also faces charges filed after her arrest this spring, including sex assault on a child and second-degree assault with a deadly weapon. She is also charged with tampering with a witness or victim, because she told her five-year-old son not to talk about what had happened to his sister.
Quartey told police that she had been carrying her daughter in a sling on her back when she slipped on some ice-covered gravel. When the child stopped breathing later that night, she called 911. Police found the girl naked on the bedroom floor, with scratches, puncture wounds and bruises on her body.

Nobody knows what happened. I grew up with her and can vouch that she is as meek as they come. The only person telling the story is the police, cos the media reported what the cops told them. This case is still being tried, and will hope folks will suspend judgment till we hear both sides of the story.
I personally don’t know what to believe, but the Susan I knew for 15 or so years was never violent. But I am suspend judgment until evidence is presented.

I don’t know about the race comment either, Tamera. I find that stupidity, cruelty and mental disorders don’t care what color your skin is or where you came from.
I am a bit frightened that she could face as little as four years for murdering and torturing her daughter. It would seem to me that with all the charges she has against her most likely she will go to prison for much longer, but four years seems unjust to me.
Pam-you should email the link to the PBB email address so they can post that story for us to follow up on. A little naked girl playing with a dead rat and the mother blames the 14 yr old for the mess….I wonder if drugs were involved (with the parents).

that poor little girl. this is why we should really consider sterilizing people. parenting is the most important job in the world, yet any idiot with working sex organs is allowed to do this job. we have to register to vote, apply for jobs, and pass tests to drive, yet we don’t have to do anything, besides have sex, to have children.
i know i’m gonna get some heat for my sterilization comment above, but something’s gotta change with the ways of the world before the shit hits the fan of society.
