Tina Lynn Tatum Beats Son at Mesa, Arizona Wal-Mart
Tina Lynn Tatum, 29, is facing two counts of child abuse for hitting, punching and dragging her bloodied 10-year-old son inside a Wal-Mart in Mesa, Arizona. The beating was captured on cellphone cameras and forwarded to police.
This isn’t the first time that Tatum has been in trouble for child abuse. Four years ago, her boyfriend, Pedro Peralta shook her three-month-old son, Anthony Nieves to death. Tatum was accused of failing to prevent or report the acts. She pleaded guilty to attempted child abuse and was sentenced to a year incarceration and lifetime probation. Tatum had just completed 51 of 52 court-mandated counseling sessions for domestic violence when this incident occured.
But it gets even worse. After Peralta killed her son, Tatum had smothered her roommate’s son. Why was this woman out on the streets?
Her son has been placed with family members. If convicted, Tatum could get a minimum prison sentence of 4.5 years. I hope the prosecutors and the judge look over all these incidents and put her away for the maximum time. She’s a baby killer and serial child abuser!

Anne Marie- I think you have it wrong. Tatums former boyfriend, the one that killed her son, is the one that smothered the baby. this was the child of a new woman he had moved in with. He is serving two consecutive life sentences for both babies.
ANYWAY, lets see. She had two children by two different fathers, the youngest being only 3 months old before she was with another man she “couldn’t live without.” (Her words according to this article http://www.azcentral.com/news/columns/articles/0817roberts0818-ON.html) DISGUSTING!! This 10 year old, accroding to some family members comments on another blog, was actually in the cistody of Tatums father. Considering, he allowed Tatum and her mother (who had abused Tatum as a child) to be alone with the child, I think he should lose custody too. She did this in public! She bloodied this kids nose in front of tons of witnesses after almost completing demestic violence classes!?!?!? Can you imagine what she did behind closed doors?!?!?!
This woman is a violent abusive BITCH who can not keep her legs closed and is attracted to short time violent boyfriends who also treat her kids like crap. Sterilize the bitch and keep her away from all children. I hope the women in prison who LOVE and MISS their children teach this woman a lesson or two. I’d smack the crap out of her myself if I could be alone with her for a minute or two.

It’s a good thing Iwasn’t at that walmart when this happened, first off, people just stood around and recorded the abuse on their phones, but no one stepped in to stop it? Hell, if I had been there, she would have been hit upside the head with something before it got as far as her dragging the kid around! This is why I say more people need to take a stand and instead of standing aside and looking the other way while the child suffers, people need to jump in and take a stand, TO STOP THE SUFFERING! This poor child must have felt humiliated being treated like this in public, and was probably awed that no one stepped in but only watched! This is horrible!!!!

She needs her ass whipped plain and simple! There is ZERO excuse for beating a child to that magnitude! How awful! Then folks just stood around and recorded the incident….are you kidding me? It would have been GLOBAL beat down if I were there. I would have done any and everything in my power to help that poor kid! Sheesh people come on! Where’s your heart? Where’s your brain? You see a little kid getting the crap beat out of him, what if it were your child? All the people who just recorded it need to do some time too!

I have to admit, I have lost my mind over my son’s antics in a store but I have never hit him let alone bloodied him. My son has never ever his butt spanked. I don’t believe that just because we are bigger than them it gives us the right to bully them. this bitch obviously has severe mental issues. Kathy – mandatory sterilization sounds great! Only if this were a perfect world.
Okay – So here is my other problem with this woman. She was raising a son!!! What does she teach him by this behaviour (besides to be a child abuser as well)??? This boy will learn to disrespect women. He will probably grow up to hate women and he will probably excel at both physical and emotional abuse. I have a son and spend most of my days contemplating how to make him into a man that will love and respect women and I know that it has to start with him loving and respecting me!!

She is definitely teaching her son to be an abuser. Apparently, she was abused in this way by HER mother. AND the people in Wal-mart also reported that the grandmother PULLED HIM OUT OF THE STORE BY HIS HAIR!!

I have (half) brothers also (my Dad had w/ my step mother). One, that I know of for sure, has such a monumental hatred for my step mother (his bio mother) because she cheated on my father. Plus my father has no respect for women. You see the cycle??? I don’t have much of a relationship with them so I had no influence over him. He is a tremendous womanizer!!! UGH!! He is no so much mean as they are all sexual objects. So I have made it my life’s ambition to make my son into a WONDERFUL man. The kind we all dream of. In fact, at 6 years old, he opens my car door!! His father taught him that one. So between the 2 of us – he is off to a great start. I just hate to see women that don’t see try to make these little boys into good men. It is soooooo important. This poor child is going to carry this abuse with him forever. And someone asked what went on when they weren’t in public – Who knows. My guess is that this child will be damaged for the rest of his life. Statistically speaking – He will probably beat his children and wife / girlfreinds. He will most likely NEVER trust or respect a woman or know how to love one. That is just the start. We all know the type of men that I’m talking about?!?! Hopefully there is a strong, influential woman in his life that can alter his perception but if what I read about the grandmother is true… I doubt it. Maybe the is an aunt or cousisn… teacher, neighbor…

she didn’t have custody of the 10 year old, she lost that a few years ago, her dad had custody of the boy, BUT, she was living with her mom and dad, which social services approved for whatever reasons despite the fact that there was an order against her to stay away from this child! I guess social services felt that as long as her dad was there to supervise, it was okay, although her mother was abusive as well and social services knew this! Her father allowed her and her mom to take this boy shopping with them, and because of this, he has now lost his custody of the boy. Let’s hope that charges are brought against her mom and dad as well, since they contributed to all of this (I believe I had read in one of the articles that the mom of tatum also was being abusive towards the boy in the store!)!!!

There really isn’t much on her page, I noticed that she hasn’t logged on since 8/11 and none of the comments are showing, of course though, she only has two friends showing on her page LOL I notice she considers herself a “perfect bitch”, and she only has two pics of her son on there, he’s a really cute fellow! I’m sure most of the “friends” she had listed have probably removed themselves from her page so they don’t catch any grief for her actions, and I’m sure her inbox is full of hate! LOLOL

I dont get why it is that when ppl are witnessing first hand child abuse they dont try to stop it. But man they have the sense to record it on their cell phones. So much could have been done to help that kid, I would gladly stepped in. It seems she only has the balls to take on someone smaller than her, so lets see how she would have done with someone her size to even up the odds. Only a week ago an exboyfriend of some lady in california used a meat cleaver on the 6 yo boy and the mother when she tried to protect her son. No one even tried to help. Finally some 53 year old lady was the would be hero. She tackled the guy and knocked the meat cleaver out of his hands. She got sliced up on the face but she had more balls to step up and help out. I would love it if for once someone would finally step up and help out instead of being too chicken shit to try to help.

This woman obviously has some metal issues that have not been dealt with. She was 19 when her son was born and her second child only lived to 3 months of age before being killed at the hands of his father! Wow, what drama.
Now, I’m no angel. My 16 yr old son has driven me to the ends of my rope and back again many times, but I always relied on that pinch spot my mother use to find on the back of my arm when I was a child…OUCH! Now, if that isn’t enough to get a child to sit up and take notice of their bad behaviors, I don’t think blooding his nose would have.
She needs more than prison though, she needs some counseling to deal with what ever is going on with her. We can all agree that her behavior is way off base! Oh, and I wouldn’t be against sterilization in this case either. Obviously her choice in men SUCKS!

I don’t understand. Did she smother her roommate’s son to death? How do you get caught smothering a child, have one child murdered by your live-in boyfriend, and get to have contact with your remaining son? Or any children for that matter. How do you even get to roam the streets? This makes no sense. I guess they needed the jail cell for a violent pot head. Priorities and all. They’re well aligned in these United States.

Everytime you open a paper or turn your tv to a news channel, someone is killing their child… Then why have kids, obviously they hated their kids to commit such gross acts of violence against them. I just cannot see how you could kill your own child, I let this get to me and it truely bothers me. Leaving the child alone to die in a locked hot car, using a toddler as a human bat, killing your 8 year old cuz your church taught you corporal punishment works. As kids we got our asses beat, did it stop us or rehabilitate us? Hell no, it pissed us off more. I think it hit hard with me on child -abuse to where I really took a hard look at how much is really going on. I was living in Hawaii at the time of the murder of the little 5 year old partially retarded little girl killed by her fathr and stepmother for wetting her pants.
