What happens when you smoke dope and don’t feed your dog

This is another follow up from a story I originally posted at Bad Breeders. This one is about 2-month-old Zane Earles from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Back in July he was mauled to death by a Labrador puppy while he sat in his baby swing in the middle of the living room. It turns out that no one in the family bothered to feed the dog at all.
Zane’s FBO, 17-year-old Linzy Earles, allegedly left the baby in the swing so she could sleep. Supposedly she was up until 4am with the baby. Zane’s body was discvered by his grandmother. So the question still remains how did no one hear this going on? I can’t speak for the grandmother but I have a guess as to why Linzy may not have heard it.
She admitted to police that she smoked a bowl a few hours after the baby died. I would lay odds that she smoked some prior to hid death as well.

OK, not sure what to say about that first comment on this story. Perhaps the commentator was doing a little smoking of her own?
What a horrific story. No one heard this baby screaming in agony? Why is only the mother being charged? The grandmother was there too when the attack took place. And everyone living in the house is responsible for the puppy being so starved it killed and ate the baby. Why aren’t there some animal cruelty charges thrown in there against the entire family?
Here’s an idea — lock up the “mother” and put a lifelong prohibition on every other member of the family living in that house that they may NEVER again own an animal of any kind and may NEVER again be in charge of caring for an animal or child.

Oh bull, you would hear a baby screaming if it was being eaten no matter how much bud you smoked. It’s not like you’ve just taken a tranquilizer and will not be out for 24-48. Geeze people, put the blame on the delinquent mother and grandmother, not some little green plants.

A, although I can’t say I think it’s OK to smoke some weed when you have a baby to take care of, I do agree with you that I don’t believe smoking dope is what kept her from responding to her baby’s screams. And I don’t belive for an instant that she didn’t hear him screaming as he was being eaten alive.
I think this sorry waste of flesh just didn’t care. Probably figured the baby was screaming because he was hungry, wet or alone and didn’t give a rat’s ass.
I’ve actually lost sleep over this one imagining how horrific this baby’s death was. Makes me want to buy a rabid doberman, starve him for a few weeks and take a trip to Tulsa.

To A. Lee, I blame the mother for smoking the little green plants as you put it. So you’re going to tell me that you’ve never known anyone to get so high that they couldn’t hear a child scream.

Yeah, I have to agree with A. Lee. I don’t think she was so high that she couldn’t hear a child screaming while being eaten alive. There’s something else going on here.

I have to agree with them too. What the hell have YOU been smoking, Trench? I have plenty of friends (adults now) whose parents smoke weed. The parents are nice people and the kids have turned out great. There is definitely something else wrong here. Weed simply does not cause this kind of behaviour, except in American anti-drug commercials aimed at impressionable pre-teens.

Oh that’s true. I guess I was just taking article at face-value that weed alone isn’t going to make you do that, but weed and booze definitely could.

Could be, could be. I wonder if she had other addiction or mental health problems. Or maybe this person is simply too stupid and irresponsible to own a potted plant, let alone be a parent or pet owner. Eugh.
