Baby stabber gets life sentence

Trench Reynolds

Woman who stabbed newborn to death found guilty, sentenced to life:

When Nicole Beercroft was 17 she hid her pregnancy from everybody. She secretly gave birth to a baby girl at her mother’s house. Rather than going to a safe haven she plunged a knife into the newborn one hundred-thirty times. Then she threw the baby’s body into a dumpster.

This week Beercroft was sentenced to life in prison for the murder. Her defense attorney tried to argue that the baby was stillborn. I guess somehow that’s supposed to make it better.

Prosecuting attorneys say that Beercroft was well aware of Minnesota’s safe haven law.

How much hate can one 17-year-old girl have to stab a newborn baby over 100 times?

Nicole…. What were you thinking about. You should had gave that baby to your mother and father. God will forgive you for what you had done to that beauiful baby girl. But… at the same time you are gonna have to pay for what you has done and that is going to hell.

When I read stories like this, it breaks my heart. I became pregnant with my oldest a month before my 16th birthday… but did not find out I was pregnant until I was almost 5 months (we thought I was 2 or 3 because I had no symptoms). I found out before my parents… and I was scared to death that my mother was going to kill me or kick me out of the house! But I told her anyway and we found out a way to make things work out!!! Now he is 5 years old and the joy of my life. How could someone stab their child though… someone that grew inside you for 9 months… I don’t understand. It does not matter if it was dead or alive at birth… it’s still gruesome. She deserves every moment in prison… even though she should get the death penalty for this. So sad, and I don’t think someone like this could be “rehabilitated.” Hopefully she never has the chance to have another child.

I don’t know about abortion prompting kids to kill their full term infants. For one they know abortion is legal and murder is not. As for the overkill, she knew exactly what she was doing, why lie about it being stillborn? Secondly, any female who’s been pregnant may have questioned herself and her morals of when life begins. Is it @ conception or birth? Maybe sometime in between? All I know, the 1st time I felt my child kick and move around, I KNEW she was alive.

  • Ihavekidstoo Says:

I believe the news reports say no one knew she was pregnant, so how could anyone be in the position of “forcing” her to keep the baby? She had the option of abortion.

Some would argue that in some ways the wide-spread acceptance of abortion in this culture actually facilitates this kind of behavior.

These girls are growing up in a society that tells them the babies inside their wombs are not human and have no right to live. Why would they think any differently once the baby is outside their bodies? It’s still a part of them. It’s still dependent on them for it’s very life. So why shouldn’t they have the right to kill it after it’s born if they find it inconvenient to have a baby?

I’m sure there are women who really agonize over the decision of whether or not to have an abortion, but I don’t think this girl was one of them. I think for her it was simply more convenient (or perhaps satisfying) to wait and kill her baby after it was born.

You are right, Hanna, that two lives have been wasted here. The difference is ONE of them had choices, the other did not.

  • Hanna Says:

I don’t know if I would call it hate. Desperation? Yes. Insanity? Yes. The fact that she stabbed it so many times really shows a LACK of any emotion, in general.

Just another reason why I believe in abortion. So much pain and misery could have been completely avoided. All these stories about teenagers leaving their newborns in trashcans and toilets? Yeah, who was there telling them they “needed to keep the baby” when they obviously weren’t mentally, emotionally and physically ready to deal with it.

    Very sad. Two lives, gone.

  • Mommyof4 Says:

I don’t get the law at all!! I seen a true story before on tv almost the same situation. If a child takes a breath outside the womb it’s murder. However if the child is still born and dumped, or cut up it’s not murder?!?! Someone explain that to me. Doesn’t abuse of a corpse mean anything? As far as i’m concerned who care if that child was born dead or alive. This woman is an animal. over 100 times? Oh please you mean at no point during her rage (which must have lasted atleast 1-2mins) she didn’t think something was wrong with what she was doing? Seeing the blood? Hearing a child’s scream?

  • Bat Cave Says:

Stillborn?! Why would she KILL a dead baby? It doesn’t make sense because she didn’t. She killed a LIVE one and as hard as I try to understand these types of “animals” the only reasoning I can come up with and this is a HUGE stretch is maybe the baby was concived by a rape, incest? Thus the enormous OVERKILL of stabbing the baby over 100 times. I don’t know but they should get the DEATH penalty in my book not just jail time.

  • Kristin Says:

i think if thats the case then more people wouldve known about it.

  • rumpepper Says:

It sounds like classic case of a keep a man baby. and when she couldn’t keep him. what was the point of having the baby she thought.

  • Kristin Says:

lol yeah, i realized what it said too after i posted.. but regardless – she deserves much worse.

and i also agree that whoever found poor little baby is scarred for life.. i would NEVER want to be put in that situation.. its bad enough finding a grown person who died of natural causes, i couldnt imagine finding something like this.

  • Ihavekidstoo Says:

Sophia, you are so right. Whoever that poor soul was who found the baby in the trash, he/she is Beecroft’s second victim in this horrific crime. They should be allowed to sue her and her parents for mental anguish.

  • Sophia Says:

    Hey Kristin,

I actually had to re-read Scoobs post myself bc I thought I saw the same thing… But what he was saying was she DOES deserve it regardless, but that he believes she had to have snapped to do it.

I always always feel horrid for the people who FIND stuff like a hacked up baby in the trash… Think that guy’s sleeping well right now? I doubt it. I wish people would just STOP spreading their sickness around.

  • Kristin Says:

how could she not deserve every minute of her sentence? she deserves to suffer a fate worse than that of her defenseless little baby!

  • Soobs Says:

To stab that many times, she had to have had some psychological break at the time. I mean, can you imagine stabbing repeatedly over 100 times? How long must that have taken? Doesn’t mean I don’t think she deserves every minute of her sentence, though.

  • Ihavekidstoo Says:

This is just evil. Too bad the judge couldn’t sentence the defense attorney to some community service for coming up with such a lame defense. The baby was already dead when she stabbed it? So then why stab it at all? Let alone 130 times! There must have been nothing left of this poor infant. That many wounds would have hacked such a tiny body to pieces.

Here’s to hoping she has a long, long life in prison and that some of the other women she’s locked up with — who probably miss their own children desperately — teach her a little bit about true justice.

BTW, Sorry that I accidentally put the “X” between “C” and “H” in my mail address. You see, I suck at spelling.

  • sfdude_2008 Says:

Stupid bitch! I hope she dies in prison! Poor baby…

  • Baby Killer Sentenced to LIFE Says:

[...] Baby Stabber gets Life Sentenced- Granted I’m more of the eye-for-eye type of penalty, especially since she kept her pregnancy a secret and stabbed the baby 130 times before throwing it away (in a dumpster). Yeah, pretty sick and the defense was the baby was stillborn. [...]
