Child abandoned in cold car outside casino:

A 21-month-old boy was found locked in a car at a Calgary, Alberta casino while his 50-year-old sperm donor was off gambling.

The temperature at the time was a bitter -8C which to us non-conformist Yanks is roughly 18F. The boy was in very light clothes and a blanket blocked the car’s windows so no one could see in. Luckily a passer by heard the child screaming. The child was so upset that he vomited on himself.

The sperm donor was charged with child abandonment.

It seems that he took an even bigger gamble with his son’s well being and lost.

Md. Woman Is Charged In Deaths Of 2 Girls:

Renee Bowman, who I’ve dubbed the Frog Clown, has been charged in the deaths of her two adopted daughters. If you’ll recall the bodies of 9-year-old Jasmine Nicole Bowman and 11-year-old Minnet Cecila Bowman were found in Bowman’s freezer last year after a third child escaped from the house and notified a neighbor of the abuse she was receiving at the hands of Bowman.

Bowman has been in jail since September after the bodies were found but now she’s officially been charged with their deaths. Police believe both girls died from asphyxia at the hands of Bowman.

Bowman was also collecting government money after the girls’ deaths.

Colombian Incest Suspect Denies Accuser Is His Daughter:

It seems like this is becoming a trend lately. Is it an increasing problem or is it the media’s new flavor since the Josef Fritzl story?

Anyway, 59-year-old Arcebio Alvarez of Colombia is accused of impregnating his own daughter 14 times. The girl’s mother died when she was five and she was first gave birth at the age of 13. The woman is now 35 and fathered 8 children by Alvarez.

He claims that he’s not her biological father and is only her stepfather, like that makes it better.

Mental health defense denied for Sargent:

They were the pair of Breeders who left their 5-month-old baby son, Benjamin Sargent, alone in his carseat in his crib for 8 days without feeding him or changing him or checking on him. According to a witness they were busy “playing video games, watching TV, feeding and caring for themselves.”

Benjamin Sargent was found in the same clothes he was dropped off at the house it with his eyes open and his fists clenched. Both Breeders have been charged with murder.

More recently an insanity defense for Sargent has been rejected. Sargent’s attorney contended that Sargent has a “dissociative disorder.” According to the good doctor Sargent retreats into the fantasy world of Lord of The Rings.

However the shrink that saw Sargent said that was only part of what led Sargent to ignore his own child.

The doctor testified the dissociation could explain some of what happened when the infant died after going without food or water for eight days in mid-February 2008, noting a baby’s cries are difficult to ignore.

“Either he (Sargent) is either deaf and blind or an utter psychopath. There’s no evidence of either,” Killian said.

So on that basis the judge thankfully rejected that defense.

Sargent is looking at 20 to 100 years behind bars and his trial is set for April 27th.

Hermann’s trial is set for May 4th.

Last I heard they were both blaming each other.

Heroin Dad: ‘My Son Knows What It Is’:

28-year-old Rolando Mendez was arrested in Dallas, Texas for shooting up black tar heroin while his 7-year-old son and alleged baby mama were sleeping in the car.

When the officer confronted Mendez, the suspect reportedly said, “It’s just a little bit. I wanted to quick get rid of it so I wouldn’t get caught with it.”

The police report states Mendez also said, “I don’t do enough to pass out. My son knows what it is and knows not to touch it.”

Oh, well that makes it all better than…NOT!!!

I know how to get rid of black tar heroin even quicker. THROW IT OUT!!!

Dad gets 50 years for girl’s videotaped rape:

46-year-old Kenneth John Freeman of Spokane, Wash. was sentenced to 50 years in prison for raping his then 10-year-old daughter and then posting videos of the rapes on the web.

He tried to get a 30 year sentence in a medium security facility stating that he was a non-violent offender, because child rape is so non-violent, and that it would save the taxpayers money. However the U.S. District Judge felt that the taxpayers probably woldn’t mind footing the bill. As a federal taxpayer myself I would gladly pay extra taxes to keep scumbags like this behind bars forever.

Mom jailed after infant left in car overnight dies:

One of the mysteries of the universe that always perplexes me is how can anyone forget one of their kids in the car.

It’s happened again, this time in the North Texas city of Cedar Hill. Policed there arrested 35-year-old LaHeather Wilson. Allegedly she left her 7-month-old son in the car after picking up her three kidsw from daycare. It wasn’t until around 6am the next morning that Wilson found her son in the car unresponsive. The temperature dropped down to 50F that night.

The two other kids have been placed in CPS custody.

Mom deals cocaine with toddler in tow:

First off take a look at that mugshot. Can you believe she’s only 26-years-old? You have to wonder what she did to her own body to look twice her age.

Anyway that’s 26-year-old Casey Lee Dudley of Port Charlotte, Florida. She was arrested for dealing coke out of her house. Police say that she sold coke to undercover detectives twice. Once while her one-year-old daughter was around and another time when a three-year-old was there.

Detectives say they found 2.0 grams of powder cocaine, numerous plastic baggies, a digital scale, and four plastic straws, all with cocaine residue.

They also found Roxicodone pills in her purse.

What’s Roxicodone? Is that like Oxycodone for Scooby Doo?

No word if the kids have been removed from the home.

Shaken baby dies, both parents in jail:

Monday 22-year-old James Brewer, of Doyline, Louisiana, was arrested for shaking his baby. The baby unfortunately died yesterday. He claimed that he was shaking the baby to make her happy because she was crying. Not surprisingly police aren’t buying that story.

The baby’s mother, Rose Holmes Davis, was also arrested for not properly feeding her three other children. Those kids have been taken from the home.

Detroit couple plead guilty in child’s death:

In 2007 Detroit police were investigating Nickella Reid and Joseph Miller on child abuse claims when their 1-year-old son Nicholas Miller was brought to the hospital with burns over 35% of his body. During that investigation Reid told police of 2-year-old Deuntay Miller’s death and that they cremated Deuntay’s body on a barbecue grill to avoid funeral costs. Except further investigations found that while they were avoiding funeral costs the pair were still collecting welfare benefits in Deuntay’s name.

Monday they entered pleas to the charges against them…

Nickella Reid, 23, pleaded guilty in Wayne County Circuit Court to involuntary manslaughter and welfare fraud in connection with the death of her son, Deuntay Miller, prosecutors said.

Joseph Miller, 28, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for Deuntay’s death.

When one of these welfare fraud cases happens it always makes me wonder what they spent the money on that they deemed more important than the death of their own son.

Judge Denies Mother Ability To See Her Children:

Back in February 3-year-old Isaac Villarreal of Corpus Christi, TX was removed from his house by CPS because he only weighed 20 pounds. His birth organism, Alma Villareal, claimed that Isaac had an obesity problem and was on “a special diet”. She claimed that a pediatrician admonished her for Isaac being too fat when he was two. Doctors at the hospital that Isaac was admitted to found no evidence of Villareal’s claims.

More recently Isaac has put on weight but doctors are saying that he will more than likely have learning disabilities because of the starvation.

Villareal’s 3 other daughters were also removed from the home and a judge has denied Villarreal’s request to see her children.

Child abuse charges are still pending against Villareal.

Woman Accused Of Breastfeeding Baby While Drunk:

This line from the article sets the tone nicely for the rest of the story…

Police said it started when Renee Vanalsburg punched her half-sister in the face.

You know it can only get better from there and of course it does. ‘Better’ being a relative word here because after police arrived at the scene they noticed that Vanalsburg was breastfeeding her baby while obviously drunk and high. The baby’s father, Marc Rush, was also arrested when police found a bottle of oxycodone and tin filled with an unnamed white powder in the baby’s crib.

Anybody want to take any guess what the mysterious white powder was? Since there was oxycodone I’m going to guess the powder was meth.

Anyway, also on the floor of the baby’s room was broken glass, knives, bug poison and spray paint.

Did I mention this happened in Florida? Florida always takes any crime story and takes it to a whole new level. Stay classy Sunshine State.

Woman charged with exposing teenage boyfriend to AIDS virus:

As I’ve said before I don’t do the ‘bad boyfriend’ stories here unless the mother does something so heinous it deserves to be posted here. This is one of those times.

23-year-old LaShonda Nicole Dukes of Shreveport, Louisiana brought her 3-month-old baby to the ER with burns and a broken arm. Somehow it was determined that not only was the abuse allegedly caused by her 16-year-old boyfriend but she’s also exposed said teenager to AIDS.

Just when I think the collective stupidity of our society can’t get any lower along comes someone like this to prove me wrong.

Ghoulish guardians, at home and in school Dad rapes girl for luck with ‘mom’s consent’:

50-year-old Kishore Bachhubhai Chauhan was arrested for raping his daughter for close to a decade. The daughter, who is now 21, had been raped by her own father since the age of 12. Chauhan’s wife, Anjana, 46, was also arrested for allowing the rapes to happen.

Chauhan raped his daughter on the advice of an astrologer by the name of Hasmukh Rathod claiming that it would bring Chauhan financial prosperity. In turn Rathod raped both of Chauhan’s daughters. Rathod has also been arrested.

I don’t care what superstitions you believe in. How greedy do you have to be to not only rape your own daughter, you let someone else rape your daughters, and your wife, their mother, let’s you do it.

Jury recommends death for Lam Luong in bridge death case involving 4 children:

I originally posted about Lam Luong here. Back in January of last year he threw his 4 children, who ranged in age from a few months to 3 years, off of the 80-foot-high Dauphin Island Bridge into the Mississippi Sound. He originally told police that someone took his kids but eventually broke down and confessed to police.

This past week a jury recommended that Luong get the death penalty for his crimes. Hopefully the judge will follow that recommendation when he’s sentenced on April 30th.
