Toddler falls from 2nd story window
Two children removed from Montague home after toddler falls from second-story window:
A pair of children were taken from a Monatgue, California home after a toddler fell from a second story window. Luckily the 3-year-old landed on an awning and this wasn’t even a cartoon. A construction worker rescued the baby who was uninjured.
However when police came to the apartment to investigate they found the usual unkempt home and I’m being polite by saying unkempt.
There was a foul smell coming from the apartment and deputies found trash piled several feet high in the kitchen and rotten food, beer cans and piles of dirty clothes strewn throughout the apartment.
21-year-old Michelle Elizabeth Burnett and an unnamed 17-year-old make were in the apartment. CPS took the 3-year-old and an 18-month-old and placed them in protective custody. The 3-year-old’s 25-year-old father had moved out of the house a month ago.
Thanks to Calvena for the tip.

Is the 17 year old the new BF, I wonder? And if he is….She’s 21, he’s 17….it may not be statutory rape, but it’s still kinda icky. The boy is still not an adult yet. However, judging by her actions, neither is the 21 year old.
Also, if the father is 25 and the authorities know how to reach him, then why was he not given custody of the children? Another thing…in the article you said “The 3-year-old’s 25-year-old father had moved out…”. Does that mean that he’s not the father of the 18 month old? Is there more to this story?
The mother needs to be slapped a couple of times, and given lessons on the appropriate care of children…… and from the sound of it, housekeeping lessons as well. Blectch.

In my experience, the children could be placed with foster parents in an emergency removal until a suitable relative is found. Could be that the father is no better than the mother. I’m grateful the children were okay. If it’s an apt bldg, weren’t the neighbors aware of the foul smell? I’m so glad I have my own house… well, until I walk into the boys bathroom… Bletch.
Children really should stop having children. Ends up no good in most cases.

Amen, Kathy. Amen.
And, Angel, I wonder, too, about all the details you mentioned. It just all sounds like such a mess, literally and figuratively.
One thing is for sure — that so-called mother is one lucky biotch. So lucky that there was an awning to break her child’s fall — so freaking lucky!!!! Maybe it will be her wake-up call.
