Breeders sentenced for tying teen to tree

NC Couple Sentenced For Boy’s Tree-Tying Death:

Do you remember the death of 13-year-old Tyler McMillan? He was the boy from Nortrh Carolina who father and stepmother tied him to a tree and left him overnight to discipline him. This was after a switch beating as well. Tyler ended up dying from dehydration.

The pair of Breeders have been sentenced in what I think isn’t nearly enough. Both Breeders entered into an Alford plea which means they don’t admit guilt but admit that the prosecution has enough evidence to convict them.

Sandra McMillan was sentenced to 13 to 16 years in prison while Brice McMillan was sentenced 10 to 13 years in prison.

Yet Tyler was given a death sentence for committing no crime.

Elizabeth – Sandra got more time because she was the one that tied Tyler to the tree. All of the abuse Tyler and his surviving brother received was by her or at her demand. There is so much more to this story than anyone will every know. Sandra only abused Brice’s sons – she never touched her daughter. I sat thru sentencing and was shocked at the lies she told to people that were character witnesses for her. She never took responsibility for any of her actions and admitted to nothing. She blamed everything on Brice and tried to say she was physically and verbally abused and she was under his controll. Good thing she video taped their arguments so the judge could see thru her lies. She was never physically or verbally abused and definitely not under Brice’s control. Brice is guilty of not protecting his sons. His lawyer stated in sentencing that he could not even defend Brice the way he wanted to because Brice would not let him. Brice told the authorities the entire truth without promise of a plea bargain. He took total responsibility for what he did and did not do. He took total responsibility for Tyler’s death and did not try to blame it on Sandra even when she was the one that tied and beat Tyler.

I don’t understand how Sandra, the step mother, got twelve to sixteen years while Bryce the biological Father who actually administered the punishment got 10-12 years. –Since Bryce fatally injured his son, and Sandra was an accomplice. Since the child was biologically his, it seems as though his sentance should have been longer. I agree it is not nearly enough time for murder.

So for killing their kid, they get less than 20 years? They will be in jail for less time than their son was even alive! Tie them each to a tree, next to a fire ant mound, and smear honey on them.

Where do these judges come from? Do they put nothing but morons on the bench, now?
