3 arrested in Va. for putting kids in trunk
Police Find Kids in Trunk, Parents Arrested:
Why do some people continue to think that the trunk of a car is a safe place for kids to ride during a trip?
Anyway in Bedford County, Virginia police arrested Dwayne and Conchita Spurlock and Armentha Kennedy. There were 9 people on the car with 3 kids, ages 13, 9, and 11, in the trunk. They claim they were on the way home from a family reunion and that they were using two cars but one broke down. Oh, well i guess that makes it ok then.
Here’s a thought if you can’t take everybody without putting someone in the trunk MAYBE YOU SHOULDN’T GO!!!
Thanks to Cynthia for the tip.

I don’t care if grown up clowns want to pile themselves into a car that can’t hold them. But, don’t jeopardize the safety of the children who might have an opportunity to grow up a little less stupid than the clowns. Thankfully, they weren’t hurt.

Yeah, if there isn’t enough room in the car….just tie ‘em to the luggage rack. Fresh air is good for kids!
Seriously, though, these parents need a reality check. What morons!

Is it okay to tie them to the luggage rack so that you can drive in peace? without “MOM, he’s LOOKING at me.” “Mom, he touched me!” “STOP IT” Me: “WHAT is going on? Why did you scream like that? You could cause an accident.” Child: “But, he’s SMILING. Make him stop.” Me (thinking to myself)… how bad would it look if I strapped them to the top of the car so I could drive in peace…. I mean, think about it… they’d be belted in.
Ah, but that’s the difference between some of us who write on here and others who are featured. The thought to strap our kids to the roof or lock them in the trunk is simply a fleeting thought overthrown by the voice of reason.

I am 41 years old and I can honestly admit that I have never ever in my entire life ever, ever considered putting any person into a trunk, let alone a child. What goes thru people’s minds? That is really scary.

Mom, Conchita Spurlock, is a correctional officer in Petersburg, VA (might be Prince George, VA) at Riverside Regional Jail. Since being arrested she has been terminated. Why didn’t they cram the adults in the trunk if they thought it was a good way to travel. Sheesh!
