Dallas Breeders accused of starving kids in motel bathroom
Couple accused of starving children, keeping them in Love Field area motel bathroom:
37-year-old Alfred Santiago and his wife 30-year-old Abneris Santiago, both of Dallas, TX, have been arrested on child abuse charges for allegedly starving their kids while locking them in a motel room bathroom. The kids are 11, 10, 5 and 1. The 1-year-old was found in a crib while the other three were found undernourished in the bathroom. And it gets worse.
Alfred Santiago is also accused of raping one of the female children. One report says that Alfred Santiago is the step-Breeder of the kids. Not like that makes it any better.
Every time I post a story about kids being starved it makes me wonder where the money was actually being spent.

V. I am so sorry to hear of your trials as a child. As a child there was little food also in my home but my parents both tried to provide. It may not have been a lot mostly potatoes or beans, but they did feed me and my siblings. I have gone hungrily many times as my own children was growing up, if I didnt have enough, to eat in the house. Children are the priority.
What a horrible experience for those poor kids, knowing that step breeder was feeding his fat face, I don’t believe for one minute that the other children was being to mean to the baby, that’s outrageous.He was just trying to cover his sorry butt, because he knows he did wrong. Where the heck was momma, you know she had to have questions as to why her children was looking skinny and unkempt.
Can we as society line up these people stand them in a line, kick them in the butt for treating children like animals.

Well, I had a Dad who always claimed he could barely make ends meet, and that we were poor. We couldn’t afford nice new shoes, or cool toys like the other kids, or enough FOOD due to the supposed lack of money. He would portion out a set little amount of food on our plates and then eat the entire rest of the panful because he was the ‘working man’ who needed all that food to keep him strong for his job. We were just kids, why would we need seconds?
He had a high paying job and was pulling in long shifts, so the lack of money didn’t make sense. Guess what? He was spending it all on prostitutes! Once a week, if not oftener. Kids don’t need food, but Daddy needs extra-marital sex!

Here is a link to where the POS boyfriend tells all about how he offered food to the kids and they turned it down.It’s towards the bottom of the article and makes me puke.He says he offered them mountains of rice,etc. and he says crap about how he is being disrespected, because now he’s being abused (by being incarcerated, I guess,like he did to those kids). My jaw was in my lap. Sure kids starve themselves to imaciation all the time when they don’t like what’s for dinner. I’d like to put this guy’s head in a waffle iron. And mama is every bit as bad. I think that the speculation to the “resident status” is unnecessary…sorry ass excuses for parents come from all walks, rich, poor, educated, uneducated and so on…it is the lack of concern for one of the most important challenges we are given as humans! Raise our children with love, compassion and concern…and of course selflessness…that’s the problem it’s not the color of skin. I enjoy venting my disgust with these pathetic excuses for human beings but I certainly don’t want to hurt people who don’t deserve it so I refrain from the remarks about things that are not important like race, geographical location, education, gender or economics. I have many friends that live in the south and a few in “trailers” that are exceptional parents and I have an ex-friend living in Rochester Hills (yep where all those rich good parents live) that deny their children support…go figure. So that said…the opportunity to be a parent is a special privilege not a right…treating our children right will only better our world!

karen, I think all of the comments about illegal residence were speculation on the part of the writers, and were phrased as such. One of those ‘maybe/what if’ situations….because of the names of the adults.

The guy definitely needs to be hung by his balls, or at least have them removed courtesy of Rusty Spoon and his Rusty Silverware Band. The mom deserves harsh treatment, too – after all, she allowed this sick twisted excuse for a human being to violate her little girl.

As far as I can find from a local news report the two were not married. The Ledger states: “They have the same last name but are not married.” This makes no difference when it comes to the crime. An Aunt said that she and their grandmother want custody of the children. Also it was said that the mother has been lying to her family about her life in Texas.

I agree that it seems much easier for people who are in this country illegally to get the benefits that my tax dollars should be covering for my fellow citizens. It’s extremely frustrating to me. It’s equally frustrating to see some of my fellow citizens who think welfare is a way of life and won’t take the initiative to get up off their behinds and try to improve their situation. I get sick of hearing “well, if welfare wants me to work, then welfare better a) give me a car, b) give me a job, c) leave me the hell alone and just keep giving me money.” People DO fall on hard times and I am HAPPY to help them, especially when I see that they are trying.
But, the point of this story is the Santiago’s. If they are illegals, send them back but keep the kids. If they aren’t, shoot them (or at least him) and give the kids to a family willing to at least TRY to feed them. I’m so sick of these wusses who can’t handle a real women so they assert their superior power on small children. Ooooh, you’re such a big strong powerful man!!! Sheesh, one little glock pointed at the back of your head and now you wimper like a kicked puppy. Too bad. BANG. No more raped little girls for you.

Wow loving_mom, that is sooo not right.
You should definately qualify for some assistance while you are in school and working part time.
That is what is so messed up about our system. It rewards people for sitting on their asses at home doing nothing, but then you get a mom who is working and going to school to better herself and to better her childrens life but they have to struggle to do it! It shouldnt be that way at all!
Women (and men) who are going to school and trying to raise a family should be able to get some help.
That just frustrates me so much because I too have been in that situation loving_mom. Just keep it up and keep your eye on that light. ITs a long hard road, but worth it!

my kids 100% of the time eat beofre I do. I have a way that I do things. I pay rent, electirc and phone bill ( i don’t own a cell phone because i can not afford one) and then I buy groceries. Any money after that AWESOME!! This last month things have been rough, I paid for school. My kids STILL had 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I just don’t understand.
If they give the excuse “We don’t have any money” (not being racist when I say this) I have noticed that mexicans who are not legal get food stamps faster then anyone. I applied for food stamps when I first moved to Alabama to help me get back on my feet it took me THREE MONTHS to get them (by law they only have one month to process your case). A lady, who was mexican, that lived next door applied for hers the same day I did and had hers a week later. It took me the WIC office SIX MONTHS to get me an appointment for my son AFTER he was born. I talked to one of the other mothers who was giving birth that day (she was mexican) and she told me that she asked for WIC that day and the WIC case worker was coming to the hospital they next day to see her and get her information. So I hate that excuse. Hell you can ever get health insurance if you are illegal!! I wait tables part time and I go to school full time and I am NOT eligable for any kind of health insurance for my children making $2.13 an hour.
Here I am ranting again lol!! I will bet you $5 his pinky nail is over 1 inch long!!

Lets not be so negative. The money not being spent on food was obviously going into a college savings for the future of their kids. I bet that bathroom was full of ponies and maricles to keep the kids occupied and happy as well. Yay! Look at me….sleeping at night…

I feel so bad for the children. Especially the girl who was raped by that freak. I’m just happy they were found alive but hope they will b able to move on and have better lives one day. No children should ever have to live like that. I hope the parents/monsters go to jail for life
