Woman in emasculation case finally goes to trial

Trench Reynolds

Mom’s trial in infant’s mutilation starts next week:

Some of you may remember the story of Holden Gothia that was posted by one of my predecessors. He was the then five week old baby who was allegedly emasculated by his own mother, Katherine Nadal, while she was whacked out on drugs.

If you’ll recall she tried blaming the boy’s massive injuries on the family dachshund. Nadal’s trial is set to start this week and her defense is still the dachshund defense.

“The dog inflicted the injuries. My client did not do anything to cause those,” said Allen Isbell, Nadal’s attorney.

Isbell said he will present expert testimony to show the wounds were consistent with those caused by a dog.

Never mind that Nadal tested positive for coke and methadone the day after the attack.

Holden survived the attack but he can’t get the surgery to repair his genitals because it costs a cool million and Medicaid won’t pay for it because the procedure is considered cosmetic.

So you’re going to tell me that some hospital isn’t going to step up and donate the surgery for this poor kid? How about public donations. If anyone knows of where donations can be sent please post it in the comments.

As far as Nadal goes I’ll be more than happy to pay for the bullet that should be used to execute her.

Thanks to Calvena for the tip.

Well Trench the Mccanns got themselves a cool million by going to the press creating a web site with a Paypal button’ involving the british prime minister a few famous celebs…why not do the same. Contact Oprah Whinfrey, Hilary Clinton and OBama…I will be happy to also donate to help this young boy if the doctors have no heart to help him.

Euthanize the mother and sell off her viable organs (if there are any left that haven’t been rendered useless by her drug use) to pay for the procedure to fix his injuries. She caused them – she should have to pony up the money (or in this case, the organs) needed to facilitate his recovery. She gets killed, he gets the surgery, and many other people could possibly benefit as well. Both problems fixed, plus some.

  • Catbert aka Pam Says:

I vote for the organ sale

  • MamaDuke Says:

Im pretty sure that once the hospital sees all the heat its getting they will donate the surgery. We have come a long way, it will be sad if they don’t.

  • IRONSIDE Says:

I hope that will be the case MamaDuke.

  • Ihavekidstoo Says:

How about the state of Texas stepping up to the plate and funding his surgery out of its crime victims fund. Every state has one. I’m sure they could coveri t.

A million dollars is a LOT of money…BUT can’t people put that aside and think of this poor child?? What about the doctors? Why can’t a doctor, out of the goodness of his or her heart, only charge half or something? Anyway, I DO remember this case and I can’t believe that this woman who calls herself a mother, will get away with this. Even if, for arguments sake, the dog did do it, she should be charged for lack of supervision or something like that.

  • Kathy Says:

Wow, so parents who need to be on medication quit taking it… and, people who should stay OFF drugs, take them. And, the end result is the abuse, murder, mutilation of the children. My brain can’t process this crap today.

I hope that some doc/hospital will step up and help this child. This is much more than cosmetic surgery. The child faces a lifetime of torment and humiliation at the hands of other kids. But, I guess Medicaid will pay for the therapy.

There is a fund set up to help Holden in his need for long-term medical care -
If you are interested in making a donation, please make check payable to “Baby Holden” , mark for “Deposit Only”, and Mail to:

    WOODFOREST BANK
    P.O. BOX 7889
    THE WHITLANDS, TX 77387

Let’s All Help Give Him the Chance He Deserves!

  • Trench Reynolds Says:

Donations can also be made at any Woodforest Bank.

  • IRONSIDE Says:

Thanks Anna and Trench will do….

  • IRONSIDE Says:

This is a heinous crime, might be a good idea to also get it in the British Press. The Daily Mail would be a good start ,the british love a good cause and I cannot think of anything more appropriate. They know nothing of this in England.

This story has affected me more than any I can remember. Can anyone technically savvy out there help by suggesting a good Web Host to create a donation website for Baby Holden that would show up in search engines? I would be willing to do it.

  • Angel Says:

They already have a donation site….Woodforest Bank.

  • Anna0044 Says:

But it doesn’t come in on search engines – I also found that on many news sites, many people were confused on where to send in donations. I actually looked through 15 sites before finding the woodforest info, and it doesnt tell you how – i had to call the bank to find out. Even more confusing -the first time i called the rep told me to go to http://www.woodforestcharitablefoundation.com – which is not for holden, but more like a mutual fund for several charities. Let me know if there is a subdomain of this site you were referring to.

  • Angel Says:

I don’t think there’s a subdomain on this site, Anna, but you could ask Trench. You may be on to something….a central website for Holden would probably be a great idea. Good thinking.

  • Sherry Says:

My husband says that he thinks every man in the United States would probably WANT to donate a dollar (at least) to help out Holden.

I vote for a website with direct donations so that we can hold bakesales!

This story has really touched me. I am happy to have found other who are wondering the same thing as I am.. why has a doctor or a hospital not volunteered money and time for this poor child’s surgery? I also do not understand why the media has not gotten more involved. There needs to be a website for direct donations. Let me know if I can help!

  • Sherry Says:

First of all, we really need someone local to Holden to do some coordination.

  • luvsblgmo Says:

Right *winks* the DOG did it. Shoot this isn’t some homework that needs an excuse. This is a poor little guy that now is mutilated. How can doctors not want to repair this horrible damage, I hope and pray that some day soon a doctor will step up and help this little guy.

  • lynn Says:

I live in Houston, so I can be of some help. I have tried to find contact info for the CPS spokesperson and the sister who has custody but cannot find anything. They may want to protect the baby’s privacy, but donations could still be made without identifying him. Direct donations via a website then contacting local news stations would be best.

  • anna Says:

    hi lynn,

the family is in process of this – but what is a “CPS” spokesperson?

  • lynn Says:

I am happy to hear that the family may get the word out.. where did you hear that?
I was hoping to get ahold of the CPS lady to ask what routes to take to help with donations or perhaps see how to navigate getting a hospital or MD to donate time and money. Her name is Estella Olguin, but couldn’t find any email for her.. I am sure that she is swampped-hb
