WOW; who leaves a 6 week old in the tub unattended? >>>>>>>that’s who!
30 year old Beverlie Lamborne left her six week old daughter in chest deep water in a baby bather UNATTENDED. The baby fell into the water. The infant was hospitalized and unresponsive for several days. She suffered brain and neurological damage, blindness and extreme pain from the incident.
What punishment could possible fit this horrific crime?

there is a new article in the herald bulletin where she was found NOT guilty. really. and there is a picture of the baby tub. it looks like a bouncy seat with no strap or belt. it doesn't even look safe. the article says that the since she had done it numerous times with no bad results, she couldn't be found guilty. really? so, it's ok to endanger your infants life as long as you do it consistantly for 6 weeks before it almost drowns. WOW! oh and her sisters reaction to the verdict was “take that!”…. how appropriate.

This article has the information that pak31 mentioned: http://www.heraldbulletin.com/pendleton/local_story_266135430.html
Her selfishness has all but destroyed this innocent child’s life. There is no fitting, legal punishment for such a horrific crime.

okay, sorry have to post yet again. I just read another article on this woman and it does say that the baby, a 6 week old infant, was in an adult tub in a bathing chair with water chest high. Some baby tubs are considered chairs because they can sit in them and they are made for infants but I don’t know if she just had the water in the chair or if it was in the tub. The article said that she told police she left for a moment to get her robe and came back to find her face down in the tub with a washcloth on the back of her head. This woman should be charged with more than neglect. Her daughter can’t cry because she had a tracheotomy, she’s blind and struggles everyday according to a source. Sad.

DodiaFae, I agree with you about infant safety courses and hospital reminders. But seriously, normal people don’t need to be told that you don’t leave a baby unattended in a tub. It’s sad that this stuff happens but as an outside source you can only do so much. No one can follow everyone around all the time making sure they are doing the right things. It’s just very frustrating that this happens at all. You were a caring parent not letting your children stand because you can forsee what could happen if they do. Why can’t we all be like that??

I know it states in the article but was the baby in an infant tub that rests on the counter or in one of those bathing chairs that sits in the tub?? If it was a chair she couldn’t sit up in it, nor should bath water be chest high. In the infant tubs, the water could be chest high if shes lying on her back in it but who would put chest high water in an infant tub??? Too much water. I am just baffled, six weeks is so teeny yet, what was so important that this woman had to leave the area??? Or is her story a complete lie? 30 years old should know better. Lock her up for life. Punishment that should be done but can’t is one hour of dunking in a huge tub per day.

Yet another thing that they tell you before you bring your baby home from the hospital: “Don’t ever leave your baby in the bath unattended. Always keep one hand on your baby when s/he’s in the bath.”
my2boys, my oldest is also 2&1/2… children, from birth until they’re able to understand that they shouldn’t stand in the bathtub (I always have horrible visions of my son standing up and slipping, hitting his head on the faucet or something) they should not be left unattended.
I’m thinking that parenting classes should be mandatory for first time parents. But I also suspect that this incident was no accident.

bloody hell i wont even leave my 2 1/2 year old alone, anything could happen. what a f***ing idiot. strap cement blocks to her feel and put her in head deep water

I don’t buy it was accident either. There is no way anyone would think a 6 week old baby could handle being left alone in chest deep water. They usually can’t roll over, they can’t sit up, and even though my daughter could do it from birth most can’t even lift their heads. Bitch should get an attempted murder charge.

“What punishment could possible fit this horrific crime?”
I think several hundred ‘waterboarding’ sessions would be a good start.
