Brillo Pads – They’re Not Just for Dishes Anymore

I wasn’t going to do another story today, since I have already given you so much to talk about. You have April to thank for my change of plans. She made me do it. Meet Linda and Robert Williams….

It seems a couple in Carson City Nevada think that locking their 3- and 5-year old boys in a bedroom of their trailer is a good parenting technique. The morally destitute female reproductive vessel also liked to keep them really clean – she scrubbed the 3-year old’s face with a brillo pad, causing his face to turn into one large, infected abrasion. Be sure to check out the second article link for Linda’s version of the cause of the 3-year old’s injuries. The 5-year old had two black eyes. In addition, the house was filthy, there were no toys for the kids, the food was locked up to keep them out of it, the bedroom door was kept shut with a sliding bolt on the outside, and the bedroom windows were boarded from the inside. Did I mention the two urine-filled toddler potties that were on the floor of the bedroom? The children were found huddled together on an upper bunk bed, sharing a blanket. The 5-year old refused to come out from behind the blanket, and the 3-year old could not be awakened. They were both transported to the hospital. It was the first time either of them had been seen by a doctor in three years. There is no word on their condition, but they have been placed in state protective custody.

But Linda and Robert were not completely bad people….they had a dog (breed not specified, but I bet Trench has a suggestion) which was well groomed, and appeared to be well taken care of. Also, the nasty snatch worked as a caregiver. Really?!?! Apparently not at home, she didn’t. According to authorities, she also wrote a ‘letter of apology’ for the boys’ treatment. Oh. OK. That makes it all better then. I’ll be sure to ask the inmates to write a letter of apology after they get hold of you.

Linda and Robert Williams have been charged with child abuse, false imprisonment, and child neglect. They are each being held on $100,000 bail.

First off I want to make clear, I am a big fan of this blog and its writers. Not only because I think its important that these “parents” be called out publicly for their deplorable actions, but also for being able to view and write about such things every day with out becoming vigilante killers of wasted oxygen.
BUT… I do have one bone or two to pick….
    1. Why always assume that anyone who owns a pit bull is a scum bag who abuses their children. I have read many story’s on here that happened to mention that there was a dog in the home and it just being assumed that it was a pit bull. I have rescued and fostered quite a few pits in my day, and my family dog is an APBT who was abandoned with me when he was 5 weeks and my daughter was 2 months. They grew up together and are both 5 years old now, I have NEVER had even one problem with him being aggressive to anyone or anything, She (my daughter) cut her first tooth chewing on his leg and as far as pits being aggressive with cats, I must say its far more likely that my cat would attack the dog and he would run away yelping… I am not saying that a pit cant be aggressive, ANY large breed of dog can inflict serious harm if not socialized correctly, it just seems like you are propagating stereotypes.
I am an Army wife and a stay at home mother of 2 children, my son who is 20 months and my 5 year old daughter, whom are my ENTIRE world. My house is clean, my kids are fed, educated, properly supervised and have never been abused/left at home/ neglected, so it just saddens me that people who are doing so much good would propagate stereotypes that make it even harder for myself and for my well socialized friendly pit bull whom is loved like a 3rd child in our home… If you are uneducated on a subject then do some research, there was a pit bull in recent news that pulled his owners 3 week old son unharmed out of the family home. The dogs arnt evil, people who want them because they think they are “bad ass” are the evil ones. I think a great read for you guys would be the book “the lost dogs”

    2. why always pick on the young parents, having my daughter at 19, that will never EVER be an excuse, or even a factor in anything I read here. I see just as many parents in their 30s and up on here as 18 year olds, Age doesnt make you kill/neglect/abandon/abuse/rape a child, PURE EVIL does. I know many young parents who are loving, attentive parents (myself included because I am 25 and had my daughter 2 weeks before my 20th b day, I can guarantee I was just as scared and unsure of myself as any one of those wastes of space who use being young as an excuse to off a baby.) at 18 and never lay a hand on their children, EVER. Again it just feels like you are propagating stereotypes and it makes me sad. Age doesn’t make you a good parent, Love and common sense makes one!

    • http://badbreeders.net/ April

I think the pit bull thing is more of a joke, really.  We all know that there are some good pit bull owners.  Be honest, though – they ARE the breed of choice for low life scum.  You have to take it with a grain of salt.  As for young parents, it’s the same as the pit bulls.  There are good ones.  I was not a young parent, but I have know several that have been AWESOME.  Another thing you need to take with a grain of salt.  Trench also picks on people with neck tattoos and West Virginia.  I like to poke at fat, slothy child abusers.  This is why we like to remind the readers to make sure their big girl panties are on.  WE mean no harm – It’s all good.  Fuck, if it makes you feel better, you can take a few jabs at me by posting blond jokes in the open thread.

Thank GOD these poor children were finally rescued from that hell. Whomever had the ethics and fortitude to call a foul when observing those children and bring it to the police has been a savior in their own right – it sounds like the police took care of things as soon as they got the info….if only they could have gotten it 3 and 5 years earlier…, and all of those who saw the kids and did nothing – shame on them. I refuse to call the pieces of sh*t who did this to defenseless children “parents”. I hope they get plenty of attention in prison….and then hell!

Jenny, I agree to. The visuals from this story were too much to handle. How can a person be so uncaring and cruel? I will never understand it. The best punishment for these holes would be the exact same treatment they gave those kids. I’d pay to see that. I am glad the kids are out of that situation and I pray they overcome that trauma.

Perhaps she was trying to get permanent marker off his face. My daughter once took a brillo pad to her sister for that reason. Of course she was only like 4 or 5 at the time…not a full grown adult!

(I kept the Brillo AND Sharpies locked up for a long time after that.)

Mr Cleam Magic Eraser is better for that than a brillo pad. I loooooove Mr Clean!!

      • Angel

Me, too….I buy mine by the bucket at Sam’s Club. I think there are 10 or 20 to a bucket – let me go check….there are 10 in a bucket. I have 5 left in my bucket – I see a trip to Sam’s in my future.

Do not use a Mr. Clean Magic eraser to remove marks from your kids. The sponges are made of fine abrasive material. My neighbor did that to remove lip liner pencil from her 2 y/o daughter’s face because the commercials talk about how well they remove crayon/marker. The poor little girl had a painful rash for days. And, I know this mom, so I also know there was no intent to do harm. Just a really bad decision.

I agree about going to court cases and seeing the biological parents. It’s nuts. I saw one parent get handed a cell phone so calls could be made to the attorney and caseworker. Then, the judge ordered that the state find the parent an apt AND FURNISH IT. They also gave the parent a car so she could get to work. The furniture voucher mysteriously disappeared, but the parent was sporting a rather large, colorful tattoo at the next hearing. Hmmm… Needless to say, she didn’t get her kids back. But, how much of my tax money was spent over the 2 year period “helping” the parent? ugh.

          • Angel

Kathy….since my kids are allergic to almost everything anyway – you don’t have to worry about me trying to remove anything from my kid with a Magic eraser. As a matter of fact, if Ivory soap and water won’t take it off, it just stays on my kids until it wears off. My 5 year old had one of those temporary tattoos on her hand for almost 5 weeks once, because I didn’t want to try anything other than soap.

I have one that’s allergic to sunscreen (all types of it), so that makes my summers a lot of fun. I have one who is so allergic to metal that the brads on the inside of her jeans break her out in a rash that looks like poison ivy – so I have to sew cloth patches over the brads on the insides of her pants. All of my kids are allergic to red food dye, and three of them are allergic to face paints. One is also allergic to the temp tattoos, and two are allergic to the adhesive used to hold band-aids in place. My house is never dull….

So – no Magic erasers on my kid, thanks.

Sure the neighbors didn’t know what was going on? If those trailers are one on top of the other I’m sure someone heard the screaming and crying…they just didn’t want to get involved. Those poor babies were failed by many people, but most of all the DNA donors. As a foster parent, I’ve had kiddos like this in care, and it’s so sad to see how overwhelmed they are at good and loving care. I think if your charged with child abuse you should automatically be sterilized

If they were doing their job as a parent in the first place we all wouldn’t be there! Those are the parents I have wanted to jump the short wall and beat the daylights out of.

Ok, so the breeders are VERY bad people…I think everyone except their family understands that. Why on earth would these monsters family go “clean up” prior to the police search? They must have been aware of what’s going on in that trailer and they deserve to be charged with allowing the abuse or better yet charge them with interfereing with an investigation (maybe that would get them a harsher punishment)..I don’t understand what these people are thinking when they do this stuff, not just the parents but their family. Don’t you know if my mother even thought I was harming her precious grandchildren in ANY way she would take them from me herself!! AND I would be lucky to see tomorrow. How can people continue allow this stuff to happen to their own flesh and blood?!?!?

This made my skin crawl. Now I often spew rantings on this site of how I want to torture the people that hurt kids. I can’t express my hatred for these parents. All I can think about is fucking spending 10 minutes behind a locked door with theese two – armed with a brillo pad and wearing steal toed boots. How is it that it took this long for the authorities to check on these kids? I refuse to believe that no one knew what what going on in that home. Grrrrr. I am so pissed I can barely process a complete thought on this matter. Please, please someone tell me that those kids will never have to see those fuckers again. Please. Send them to my house. I have a Wii and tons of Legos. We’ll feed them healthy meals, let the pee in a toilet, they can sleep in soft beds in rooms with open doors and sunlight. I will give them hugs and kisses. I will tuck them in and read to them. Heck, I’ll even let them call me mommy.

    • Angel

I have some steel-toed boots you can borrow – what size do you wear?

Of COURSE someone knew what was going on! The article stated that between the time the two asswarts were arrested, and the time it took the police to get back to the home to take pictures and gather evidence, family members had already been there. They had removed several garbage bags (I assume full of trash), cleaned the place up, and removed the boards from the window. They should all be arrested too, for facilitating the abuse by not reporting it.

I’ll take both of those boys – my son would LOVE to have another boy (or two) to play with. All he has right now are five sisters. And, after having five girls, and then getting a boy….how many toys do you reckon Daddy has bought for his little man? Yup. All of them. They’d have a grand old time here. And I only lock my kids up on Friday nights when I leave them home alone to go out partying. JUST KIDDING!!!!!

      • http://www.myspace.com/aprilamber April

I wear an 8 – 8 1/2. Send them my way. Nevada is an easy drive for me. I would think that you lovely ladies would go in on a mani / pedi for me after I got done. Kicking the hell out of shit stains like this can wreck a girls nails.

        • Angel

          That’s the same size I wear! They’re on the way…. ;-)

  • Bridget

I hope the charges get upgraded. Gross misdemeanor neglect, that’s when you forget to cut your kid’s toenails. They had no toys and were so scared, in pain and cold. I have a three year old boy and this hits hard. He’s the light of my life, I just do not understand monsters like this. A letter of apology, riiight. Does she expect her kids to read it, I’m sure she hasn’t even taught them the alphabet. Waste of oxygen.

I wear an 8 – 8 1/2. Send them my way. Nevada is an easy drive for me. I would think that you lovely ladies would go in on a mani / pedi for me after I got done. Kicking the hell out of shit stains like this can wreck a girls nails.

          That’s the same size I wear! They’re on the way…. ;-)

I have some steel-toed boots you can borrow – what size do you wear?

I hope the charges get upgraded. Gross misdemeanor neglect, that’s when you forget to cut your kid’s toenails. They had no toys and were so scared, in pain and cold. I have a three year old boy and this hits hard. He’s the light of my life, I just do not understand monsters like this. A letter of apology, riiight. Does she expect her kids to read it, I’m sure she hasn’t even taught them the alphabet. Waste of oxygen.

I just have this mental picture of those two little boys huddled together trying to protect eachother, effing bastards, now I am off to find some kids to cuddle and love on (damn still have 4 more hours of work)

I agree…the mental pictures..yes. Horrible. Those poor sweet little boys. I have a 13 year old but I have cherished my Son every year he has been on this earth and it makes me sad to think these low life pieces of sh*t could treat their Sons’ like this. The only true punishment we can all depend on is that inmates find out “their story” and true justice takes hold!
