A Selfish Man – A Grieving Mom

Two children are dead, and a mother is in mourning – all because another selfish bastard decided that ‘if he couldn’t have them, no one would.’ Dana and Jerry Whitelaw separated last June, and Dana filed for divorce in August. On Tuesday morning, Dana stepped out of the shower to find what I imagine has to be the most terrible thing a parent could ever face. She found her two children shot to death. And the killer was their father – who had taken the coward’s way out, and shot himself as well.
The police are not releasing many details about the crime, but they have said that it looks like the children were shot in their sleep. Thank God for at least that much – at least they didn’t die knowing that their dad was their killer. That their dad hated their mom more than he loved them….
Their son, Kevin, was 16, and a football player at his high school. Little Katie was only 11, and Dana was a secretary at the school Katie attended. This man(imal) has not just destroyed three lives – he has destroyed a community. The schools, their teachers and students, counselors, church, pastor, congregation, and let’s not forget the mother of these beautiful children, and her family – all have been affected by this selfish act. My heart goes out to Dana Whitelaw; I cannot fathom the pain she must be in at losing her children in such a horrible manner. My heart also goes out to the grandparents, and the rest of the community as well; the shock waves from this will undoubtedly span years, and will leave a hollow space in the hearts of all who knew these wonderful children.
I’m gonna borrow one of Trench’s favorite sayings, and pardon me if I butcher it: If you wanna kill yourself, go ahead, but at least man up and do it alone. Leave the kids out of it. People like this selfish prick disgust me.

Sadly this happens more often then not. My prayers and heart go to thier mother and their families. No matter what kind of person the father was, good or bad, he will burn in hell. These young children have thier wings and are in heaven. Suicide is the cowards way out!!

My heart is heavy trying to imagine what this mother is going through. I don’t understand what drives a person to do something like this. You don’t want to pay child support, then take yourself out of the picture. But, your own two children?

He felt that if I cant have the kids then no one can. He did not kill her becasue he wanted to make her suffer the lose of her family….he was thinking that he had lost his family so now I am going to make you lose yours.
