Do You Like Pina Coladas?

Nicole Gonzalez, 28, has been arrested for DUI – among other things. It seems that she decided a couple of drinks would be a good idea before driving her 10-year-old son home. After initially denying to the hospital staff and authorities that she had been drinking, she admitted to having consumed two pina coladas. Since I have been around people who were drinking before, and have observed their relative mathematical abilities, I would be willing to hazard that the two drinks she claimed to have had might actually have been a square root, or cube root figure instead. Just my guess, though.

In addition to having her 10-year-old in the car, she was also PREGNANT! Maybe it’s just me, but I think getting drunk while pregnant is probably just as bad an idea as driving while drunk – maybe worse. In addition to the danger the unborn baby was in from the accident, this selfish drunk also put her child at risk for FAS. For those readers who don’t know, FAS is birth defect caused by consuming alcohol while pregnant. It can range in severity from mild developmental delays to severe and debilitating physical and mental deficiencies.

In addition to the DUI charge, she was also driving with an already suspended or revoked license. The police, being thorough, tacked on an additional charge for that as well. Good job, guys! It seems that Nicole had plowed her auto into a fire hydrant – you know how those hydrants just LOVE to jump out into traffic! – and had also been seen swerving into oncoming traffic more than once.

After being taken to the hospital to be checked for injuries, she became abusive with the hospital staff. Wow! I would’ve never seen that one coming! Not a drunk who is abusive! She also made the comment that she hoped that she would have a miscarriage so that she could “sue everyone”, according to the report. What a great mom! Wishing for the death of your child so that you can receive monetary compensation. My head spins.

Thanks to Michelle for the tip, and you can thank Trench for the title.

wifather, this is not a site to come and bash your spouse, or compare her to all of the situations on here. Your repeated references to ‘all females’ and ‘women’ as a group, are unwarranted and unappreciated. I’m sorry you have a sorry ex – a lot of people do – but this is not the appropriate venue to vent your wrath against her. Try Ihatemyspouse.com or something similar.

My “EX” insisted on drinking to excess the full time she was pregnant with my son. He was born cesarean and while “MOM” was in recovery she went into the DT’s and had to be given drugs to stop her whole body spasms. The boy was colicky for a long while after he was born, I think it was his withdrawal to all the alcohol his “MOTHER” was good enough to share with him. This women is a school teacher in charge of teaching other people’s children. Where does this protection stop for all females like this????

LisaAnn is right. There really is nothing wrong with having one or two drinks while you’re pregnant. It’s drinking to excess throughout the pregnancy that causes FAS. How do I know? I work in LDRP.

The truth is medical science does not know how much alcohol causes Fetal Alcohol Syndrome because it is unethical to do testing for a threshold.

I LOVE Pina Coladas….when I’m not preggo! I sure hope this baby is Ok!! And her son as well! Dumb bitch! I got preggo is Dec 08 and didnt find out until Feb 09. I felt soooo horrible when I went to the Dr and found I was preggo and not just sick! The 2 drinks I had on New Years bothered me for so long! Not Pina Coladas, but wine! :| How she can knowingly be preggo and drink like that AND put her 10 year old at risk? Unreal!

Two glasses of wine shouldn’t cause too many problems, if it was only the one time. They say the effects you get from the alcohol are maginified for the baby, but two glasses of wine shouldn’t cause too much more than a pleasant buzz for you, and they are remarkably resilient about one or two time occurrences. This lady in the story was apparently plowed, so that poor baby was very bad off, and when someone does it once that far along, they’ve done it more than once, so who knows the damage she’s already done to that little one. With both my son, and the little one I’m carrying now, i had a few drinks before I knew I was pregnant (never more than a buzz), and the older boy is fine, and the little one is growing and developing well. It’s what you do after you know you’re pregnant that really matters.
this woman was just irresponsible, i mean she went drinking, while pregnant, with her 10 year old son in tow, and got drunk enough to be chargeable with DUI, what an example to set for the boy.

Angel, here was a new one on me, at the infamous FLDS compound, there arose a new physical disease, FUMORASE (hope I spelled it right). Of course, it’s a result of too much in breeding. Gee, that’s no fun! (I urp)
Also, I sent in a tip I hope YOU get ahold of, a woman drank ALOT and smoked pot and decided to get on the highway. With a bunch of kids. Sent it in about 10 minutes ago.

    • Angel Says:

Well, Trench, do I get the tip?

Fumarase deficiency wasn’t first discovered in FLDS members. It is true that half of the cases in the world right now are among the FLDS.

The increase in genetic disorders among first cousin parents is very low -when its just the one generation. It increases the risks about 2-3% or to put that another way the same increase as a pregnant woman in her 40s vs one in her 20s.

In cultures that are physically, or culturally isolated, or for whom first-cousin marriages are common there is a higher rate of inherited genetic diseases. First cousin marriages are in the Bible. In some cultures in the Middle East and South Asia tend to marry within the family or small defined classes. That’s historically true of the royaly and upper classes of Europe. Genetic disorders are also common amoung Scandavians(Congential Alactasia, porphyria), British Isles(porphyria, PKU), Israli Jews(Tay Sachs), and other cultures. Most cultures have at least a few autosomal recessive disorders that are far more common to them than to others.

Its easy to hate the FLDS, and certainly some of them are child abusers, and abusive towards women. But its wrong to attack people for having a genetic disorder -particularly one that there is no screening test available to potential parents (like there is now for Tay Sachs). I’m sure most peopled do not want to condemn their child or someone else’s to such a severe disease; even the FLDS.

If she was messed up enough to be swerving in and out of traffic, and that abusive, I would have to agree that 2 was probably the cube root at least of the actual number of drinks, unless they were making her pina coladas with 151 rum, or cutting them with everclear. A pina colada is not that alcoholic to have you the messed up on two, unless you have absolutely no tolerance for alcohol (but hey, then she’s a real cheap date).

I like the occasional drink myself, and know my limits, but even I won’t do more than sip while pregnant (and I’m talking one sip to taste something I haven’t tried before that won’t be around when I’m not pregnant, otherwise, I don’t drink anything alcoholic once I know I am pregnant). I guess the important thing is, I know my limits (and they are pretty substantial), don’t exceed them, and definitely do not test them while carrying a precious passenger, even if I really want to (and it is hard, went to a Halloween party held by someone at my husband’s work, and it was byob, I took some non-alcoholic stuff to make sure there was something I could drink, and found out what was there that wasn’t alcoholic, and still had a good time).

  • Kathy Says:

Too much alcohol = lack of birth control. Seriously, how many drunk ho’s think to ask the entertainment provider to wear a coat? I’m really starting to despise people.

  • Ihavekidstoo Says:

Pregnant women who drink should be charged with child abuse, nothing less. It should be illegal in every state in the country. Any woman who gets drunk while pregnant should have the baby taken away from her immediately when it is born, and any money the woman earns or gets given to her (even if it’s welfare) should be garnished for the baby’s care for the rest of her life.

Personally, I’d like to smack the stuffing out of this bitch. FAS is a very real syndrome and it’s one of the few birth defects that is totally avoidable!

  • jj Says:

Wow, this bitch is just an all-around loser. I’m sure she has all kinds of problems, :???: but drinking while pregnant? Like the environment that this poor child was being born into wasn’t bad enough, let’s add serious health problems. Problems caused by a selfish twat who should have used a condom if she couldn’t stop boozing for 9 fucking months.
