Happy Thanksgiving!

Angel

No links, no pictures, no sad story. I wanted to wish all of our readers a Happy Thanksgiving! I will not be posting any more stories until Friday or later. I am taking a break for the holiday. I wish you all a moist, juicy turkey, mouth watering ham, fluffy mashed potatoes, and outstanding stuffing. Enjoy your time with your families, and I will remember each of you in my prayers.

I have to go and cook for my army of children, now, but let me leave you with a little recipe you might enjoy for dessert. I know most people don’t care for fruitcake, but believe me, by the time you finish making this – you will enjoy ANYTHING you eat! I will be making this recipe as I type it up for you…..

FRUITCAKE RECIPE
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups dried fruit
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup brown sugar
lemon juice
nuts
1 gallon whiskey

Sample whiskey to check for quality. Take a large bowl. Check the whiskey again to be sure it is of the highest quality. Pour one level cup, and drink. Repeat.

Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon sugar and beat again.

Make sure the whiskey is still OK. Cry another tup.

Turn off eclectic mixer. Break two legs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Mix on the turner. If fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it loose with a drewscriver.

Sample the whiskey to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Who cares? Check the whiskey.

Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find.

Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don’t forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out of the window.

Check the whiskey again.

Go to bed. Who the hell likes fruitcake, anyway?

Might I suggest waiting until after all of the other food preparation is done before you attempt this recipe? Otherwise, you may have to go to Denny’s for Thanksgiving dinner, lol. I’m sure this will quickly become one of April and Karen’s holiday favorites…..

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!

First fruitcake recipe I’ll ever try

  • Kathy Thomas Says:

That puts a whole new “spin” on making fruitcake…and after a gallon of whisky, there would be plenty of spinning!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too Angel!

  • Eccentric_Lady Says:

Bleh on whiskey…think rum would work? :?:

    • Angel Says:

Sure…I make mine with Kahlua….it’s just kinda hard to find Kahlua in the gallon jug, so I buy a couple of the economy size bottles instead. What are those called? Fifths? Maybe I should buy five.

    • Holli Says:

I was gonna say, I have another recipe that calls for rum, not whiskey!

  • KateRo Says:

aw, man. No fruitcake for me. I’m pregnanty. Maybe next year.

    • Angel Says:

You can still have the fruitcake, just not the whiskey…..just hop right on out that window and retrieve that bowl, honey! lol

Babies are better than fruitcake OR whiskey, anyway. And they smell better too!
