DeramousVeronicaPregnant Woman Cut, Suspect Arrested:

Police: Md. woman tried to cut out unborn baby:

40-year-old Veronica Deramous of Maryland is accused of befriending a 29-year-old homeless woman and trying to cut the baby out of her abdomen.

Deramous allegedly lured the woman to her apartment with a promise of free clothes then held her captive for 5 days and tried to cut the baby out of her with razor blades and a box cutter.

As horrible as that is that’s not what lands her here on the pages of PBB. What lands her here is the fact that she forced her 17-year-old mentally disabled son to help her in committing this atrocious act. She made her son hold the victim’s hands behinds her back while Deramous bound the victim, stuffed a rag in her mouth then duct taped her mouth.

Luckily the victim, 29-year-old Teka Adams, was able to escape and the baby, named Miracle Sky, was delivered through emergency c-section.

A fund has been established to help the baby.

The son has not been charged.

Thanks to Sakeena for the tip.

Pittsburgh’s version of this woman is just going to trial… claiming insanity, natch. Of course, she is pretty crazy– was institutionalized for a while, hearing babies crying in her head yadda yadda, had tried to steal a baby before and had just gotten out from that attempt and released to the “care” of her family (who said that they couldn’t “make” her take her meds or go to her psych appts). There are some people who simply can NOT be left to care for themselves– too bad they closed Mayview down.
The woman (18 or 19 yo) she killed was visiting her to-be baby-daddy in jail…

she was just going to perform a c- section while the woman was wide awake???????????????????????? no pain killers??????????????? OMG…..this woman is insane.

This happened not far from where I live in MD…of course the news didn’t report that her son was there, probably to protect him. From what I’ve heard there’s a fund set up for little Miracle and her mom. Hopefully, Mom will recieve help to overcome the trauma from this ordeal. The perp is being held without bond!

Ah, missed Sakeena’s post. The woman is obviously a bit deranged. She needs to be tried for her crime. Didn’t the bf/husband realize that a kidnapped, pregnant, homeless woman was suddenly living in their house? weird.

  • Angel Says:

Jeez, people….what would this woman want with someone else’s baby anyway? Apparently she can have her own – she has a seventeen year old son, so why steal one? Why not just have it herself?

Oh, wait….in order to have one of her own, I guess she’d have to find someone willing to impregnate her. That explains it. I can’t imagine any guy being desperate enough to be with that.

    • Sakeena Says:

Actually she does have a man. I don’t know if it’s her bf or husband. That’s why she was trying to steal the baby. She has been pretending to be pregnant for months. So scary this happened about 3 minutes from my house.

      • Angel Says:

How do you ‘pretend’ to be pregnant? Did she stuff a pillow up her blouse or something? And again – if that worked on her ‘man’ he must not have gotten anywhere near her in the last 4 months at least. I’m sure that even an idiot would be able to tell the difference between a big belly and a big pillow in bed….

        • Jenn from NM Says:

Yeah, no shit, huh. I don’t know a man with regular access to nookie that would hold off for 4 months or more. Unless she said her doctor told her to not have sex while she was pregnant (which can happen if you’re at very high risk for complications). And there is a definite difference between pillow and big belly, unless she always insisted on having her top parts covered during intimate moments, or maybe he was one of those guys that is turned off by pregnant women (which would be strange if he’d been her man toy for a while, since theoretically the baby would be his, and most men find that attractive, even if they don’t find other pregnant women sexy. My husband just told me he likes pregnant women, which is good, since I am right now, lol, but then, I never have to worry about him not finding me attractive, lol).
This is at least the second story I’ve seen this year about this kind of thing, at least this mother survived to see her baby, the other mother was found in the murderer’s closet dead, and the murderer was found at a homeless shelter with the baby, claiming it was hers.

Although I do have to say, why turn up the TV to cover up the sounds of pain if you’re going to stop when the person moans in pain, talk about no follow through, although maybe it was a little bit of humanity peeking through the monstrosity, and very likely saved the mother’s life, but wow, the woman got through enough to expose the placenta.

    • Kathy Says:

There’s always a guy desperate enough. ALWAYS. Maybe she was afraid she’d have another disabled child. Hopefully, the boy will have someone to care for him while mom is spending some time in jail. This saddens as much as sickens me.

      • Jenn from NM Says:

She could have been worried about that, but damn, if you’re worried about that, adopt, or at least try to. Or just don’t have any more babies period. I mean, she obviously wasn’t that concerned that the baby actually be hers genetically if she’s trying to steal someone else’s.

        • Sakeena Says:

She probably couldn’t afford to adopt. Suitland isn’t a very good area.
This whole story just broke my heart.

  • Eccentric_Lady Says:

Jenn, you can say that again…WTF is up with that?!?

  • Jenn from NM Says:

WTF is up with these women trying to perform extreme amateur c-sections and steal other people’s babies? anyone tried that bull on me, and they would have a fight on their hands, we’re talking teeth, fists, whatever I could get my hands on, kicking the whole nine yards, Glad the mother was able to escape with her life and her baby intact.
