Woman smoked coke and drowned newborn
Mother admits to drowning baby:
In a Baldwin County, Alabama courtroom Marsha Colby admitted to killing her newborn baby back in 2005. She admitted to smoking cocaine (which probably means crack) then getting in the tub and delivering the baby under water. She let the baby drown and then buried the baby in the back yard.
Even on crack I just can’t imagine someone being that selfish to just let a newborn baby drown inches in front of them.
She claims that she did it because she couldn’t afford to raise the baby. But apparently she could afford the coke.
There are programs in place that assist financially with raising babies. That’s why they were put there in the first place.
She was sentenced to 15 years. A decent sentence but still not long enough if you ask me.

Ugh. At least she’s old enough that if she doesn’t have any conjugal visits, she won’t be able to make any more children that she can drown in the bathtub.
And only 15 years for killing a defenseless child? That is BS. It’s better than what babykillers have gotten in the past, though.

No doubt this woman is a selfish cum dumpster. She should probalby have her uters removed with a rusty knife and be left to bleed to death. That’s the only way we can be certain she will never have another child. BTW – I can’t help but wonder how old she is. She looks 50 – but in crack years that’s like 23, right?

These are the kinds of cases that BEG for sentencing guidelines to include MANDATORY STERILIZATION, but I kinda like your idea, too.

Now just waiting until some dough-head comes Googling this woman’s name and starts crowing from the rooftops about how great she REALLY is, just circumstances, she couldn’t help it…

WTF!!!! then give the baby up for adoption for crying out loud. We have a friend on here now with a daughter broken hearted to lose the baby she had plans to adopt, she’d have loved that baby forever! I mean jeez people, there are families desperate for children I have a friend who is looking into foster care now after exhausting every single possible way she could to get preg and when I see the hurt in her eyes and then read a story like this it just pisses me right off!

I wish your friend the best. We adopted one son through foster care and we’re entering the adoption phase for another son.
One thing that drives me nuts is that so many of the kids who come into my care think they’ve been removed because their parents are poor. They don’t understand that their parents are poor because they CHOOSE to use their money for meth, crack, pot, etc., instead of food, clothing, and shelter. It’s heart breaking.
I think 15 years is too light in this case. The woman deliberately filled the tub, had the baby, and drowned the baby. There’s no accident here. It was intentional. Seriously… with the safe haven laws and programs that would take care of the baby, she thinks killing the child is better? Wonder how many years she’ll actually serve…

What’s more horrifying is that she had to cut the umbilical cord and hold the baby down to drown it. It isn’t as easy to drown a newborn baby as one might think.

Well, of course, the coke is a necessity, the baby, she could do without. It would just have basic human needs and what crackhead needs that?
