Newborn born at party dumped in trash

Police: Calif. mother dumped newborn in trash:

24-year-old Jessie Canfield of Santa Barbara, California is accused of giving birth to a newborn baby girl at a party in Redondo Beach and dumping the baby in the trash.

She allegedly retired to a bedroom at the family surprise party for a few hours then at the end of the party she went home like nothing was wrong.

Later sanitation workers found the baby’s body in the trash outside of the house where the party took place.

She claims that she didn’t know that she was having a baby. Don’t they always.

It is unknown yet if the baby was born alive or dead.

The ironic part is that baby was dumped just a few blocks from a fire station which is a safe haven in California.

What I want to know is how no one at the party during or afterwords had no inkling that a baby was born there. I’ve never witnessed one live but from what I hear it’s a somewhat messy affair.

Every time I read a story like this I wonder, for someone to “not know” they were having a baby, wouldn’t their vag need to be about the size of the Grand Canyon? You know, a little lower stomach cramping and then–flop!! Out comes a baby.

I drove down Beryl the day it happened. Crazy shit. That NEVER happens in So. Redondo. The most excitement we ever get are the homeless people outside of the Wholefoods store.

What the….? This Santa Barbara chick thinks that because she lives in an affluent area, she will get off easily..SADLY, Trench’s last post reinforces that reality. Again, babies are dispensible, especially in a communtity which if rife with luxuries…..(not to offend anyone who lives in these areas, there are def those who care)

Now I can see not charging her until the find out cause of death, and I’m pretty sure they have to prove that the baby took ONE breath to classify it as a homicide, but can’t they keep the whore locked up for something like abusing a corpse or something like that?

OK, I always used to say I can’t believe a woman wouldn’t know she was pregnant. I mean, missing your period for 9 months would be the first clue, right? But then I saw a couple episodes of that show on TLC or Discovery Health (can’t remember which one) “I Didn’t Know I was Pregnant” and some of the women featured on there aren’t total idiots. They really had no physical signs. That said, EVERY ONE OF THEM “mothered up” when they found out they were having a baby. Every woman featured on the show had her maternal instincts kick in at the right time and was caring for and raising the surprise baby when the show was filmed.

So even if this stupid little bitch truly didn’t know she was pregnant, when she SAW the baby she had to know it was a human life – a precious, fragile new little life. And she tossed it away with the trash. If she’d gone into that room alone and run out screaming an hour later asking for help for her newborn, I could forgive her. But she hid the whole thing like that baby was a shameful piece of garbage, and then she dumped her little body. Probably she killed the baby before dumping it. At the very least, she let her die by not getting her immediate medical care.

Yeah, I’m having a really hard time tapping my tiny little sympathy gland for this bitch.

She could have freaked out out how the baby looked, since the only childbirht she has probably been on TV, where they use 3-4 month olds to play newborns. I remember when my newest boy was born, he was purply, his feet were slightly folded up (apparently he was cramped in there), and his ears were folded down (he kind of looked like a little puppy dog, it helped that he also had slight points to his ears). So whe could have freaked out and though the baby was deformed or something, since it wouldn’t have looked like the pretty “newborns” you see on TV. But that doesn’t excuse what she did. That is one advantage of having the baby in the hospital, if they don’t seem concerned, you know baby is most likely normal, no matter how weird he looks, and they do look weird, especially when delivered naturally.

Stories on this site sicken me. I don’t know I continue to visit. Its like a car wreck, you know the chances of seeing something horrible is high, and yet you still slow down to look.

I have tried to have a child for years. I would love to have several children, and yet I cannot. I cannot foster or adopt because my husband has a felony from when he was 17 years old. He has never been in trouble since. We are two financially secure, mentally stable adults, and we cannot have children, and yet trash like this person can. Go figure.

Have you considered private adoption? It’s a little pricier, but not as hard to get through as the state can be. Are you have fertility issues? I really am sory for you. *hugs*
