23-year-old Ryan Chad Gifford of Westminster, Maryland and his main squeeze decided to get tanked on a half gallon of white wine which I’m guessing wasn’t the Chateau Laffitte ’68. (I don’t know if that is a real wine so don’t e-mail me).
After the squeeze went to bed she realized that her 21-month-old daughter wasn’t in bed like she should be. She found her daughter in the bathroom with Gifford. Both were naked and in the shower. The girl had blood in her ears, her lip was bloody and had a bruise on her forehead. Now my medical knowledge is limited at best but doesn’t blood in the ears usually mean that something almost lethal is wrong?
Gifford told his squeeze that the child was being fussy and fell and he was ‘cleaning her up’. Apparently the squeeze had no issues with this as she dried the girl off and put her back to bed.
Apparently Gifford wasn’t done because when the squeeze woke up again to check on the girl there were additional injuries. That’s when she decided to take the girl to the hospital. It was there that they not only found evidence of sexual abuse but also found burns on her foot and calf.
When police found what they believe to be the girl’s blood Gifford responded “must have been her blood. I don’t remember anything.”
Did I also mention that the squeeze is not being charged? I guess there really is no law against being stupid.
Thanks to Lisa for the tip.
