Mother admits to killing infant by poisoning with methadoneAngela Davis Murphree is no angel. She’s a worthless, 30-year-old, murdering mother of an 11-month-old baby girl. She has admitted to giving her baby the pills that killed her, not once, but twice! 

On October 21st, a doctor was concerned for the baby and sent her to the children’s hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. There. She tested positive for methadone and seemed to be getting better once under treatment. The baby was tested two more times and tested negative for the drug on November 2nd.  BUT out of left field the baby dies on November 3rd. Another drug screen and POW! she’s positive for methadone, again. The only person with access to the baby, was Murphree, other then the nurses who were caring for the child. Police believe she is responsible for giving her the drug. She later admitted to crushing the pills and putting them in her food. 

So, let’s get this strait. Mother Reaper poisoned her daughter twice – the second time right under the noses of the hospital. 

I’m actually surprised she was able to do this – my son was in the NICU for a week after delivery and those nurses watched him like a hawk! In fact I wasn’t even allowed to prepare his bottles; they did and then gave them to me until I was able to try breastfeeding. 

Murphree has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse. The baby’s death has been ruled a homicide, as a result of complications of the toxic effects of methadone.

    Could be she suffers from Munchausen by proxy, a mental illness, BUT she still murdered that child & deserves the death penalty.

    WHO, exactly, are these morons who let her visit the child?
    This is unthinkable stupidity!
    The State of Tenessee needs to bring suit against this hospital for this.
    Honestly. What were these Docs, nurses, hospital thinking?
    Were the police made aware when the drug was first detected?
    Or did the hospital neglect to inform them?
    Talk about malpractice. These people should be charged as accessories after the fact for this.

    I agree 100%! The mother never should have been allowed back in the hospital near the baby. She should have been arrested right then and there when the drug was found in the baby. That is insane and something that never should have been allowed. I hope she rots in jail!

    Riddle me this. Baby’s in hosptal for ingesting mom’s methadone. So we know she’s a heroin addict/methadone addict. Yet instead of being in custody or at least the baby being in protective custody while in the hospital while they should have been questioning heroin mom, they let her be alone with baby so she can finish the job she started? FAIL, cps, ULTIMATE FAIL. that baby’s death is on their hands.
