Father charged with forcing bottle into baby’s mouth

23-year-old Daniel Santos Borges, of Beavertown, Pennsylvania forced a bottle into the mouth of his 9-week-old son. This caused a laceration under the newborn’s tongue that would have bled profusely. 

Borges is being charged with endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault. 

The child was taken to the hospital for trouble breathing. An examination also revealed a bruise to the child’s left eye and a scratch on his right leg. A doctor said that a laceration of that type would have been caused by forcefully pushing something into the baby’s mouth. 

Borges told a caseworker that “he wouldn’t stop crying and would not take the bottle. I forcefully pushed it in his mouth. Yeah, I get rough with him sometimes,” according to the complaint.

    his “comment” was probably taken out of context. The child was not at fault, no responsibility should be held towards the child. however for the father, i would call this a mistake more than a criminal action. he needs counselling, he needs therapy. obviously he could not deal with the stress of raising a crying baby. but for the people posting comments to say things like “kill yourself” or to pretend like they know him and say “now is the time to get away” or to put their selves in his shoes and say to check the reasons like “colic, or diapers” sure, maybe common sense to you, but maybe this man needed classes on raising a baby, counselling on anger, he needs help…not insults…. what would jesus do.. jesus did not come to earth to help the good. but to help the bad.. help this man… dont hurt him, otherwise your in the same category as him. god will judge you on your intentions. you really think a prison cell would help this man? everyone in this world, as long as their intentions are well, deserves more chances, god gave us one life. man should not take it away.

    Another case of someone who should have put the baby in the crib and took a break from the crying. Too many “adults” have childish reactions. The baby will recover so that is good. Child services should now be involved to hopefully help this idiot manage his anger (preferably better than the loser two stories up).

    What an idiot. Did he even bother checking the other reasons babies get fussy? Like a loaded diaper? Colic? Tired and etc…?

    He gets rough sometimes? Medina used that excuse! Sounds like someone needs to keep an eye on this big baby watching the true baby.
