First let me say that I am not posting the mother’s name because as of right now the only thing she’s guilty of is making horribly bad choices.

Anyway having said that it’s time to put on your sleuth caps everyone. So far no murder charges have been filed however a woman left her 2-year-old daughter with her sex offender boyfriend and the child died and a witness says that the girl was covered in bruises and both eyes were swollen shut so you do the math.

The 32-year-old woman left her 2-year-old daughter, Addison Grace Lanham, with her registered sex offender boyfriend, 33-year-old Jason Michael Wells of Bessemer City, North Carolina. Wells was arrested in January of 2010 for taking indecent liberties with a child and was convicted of sexual battery in December of 2010. Normally this is where I would complain that he shouldn’t even have been on the streets since he’s a lowlife sex offender but I digress.

Wells was babysitting Addison at their motel room. The next thing we know is that a call was made to 911 and a witness says that when Addison was removed from the hotel room she was bruised and her eyes were swollen shut. As of the most recent news Wells has not been charged with Addison’s murder yet pending an autopsy however he has been charged with failing to register as a sex offender and a sex offender babysitting a child and he’s being held on $750K bond.

What really gets me is that Addison’s mother is still sticking by him so to speak. Not only did she know that Wells is a registered sex offender but thought that Wells has changed his ways. Let me tell you something. I’ve been writing about crime for 11 years. Sex offenders do not change their ways especially with ones that have preyed upon children. To make matters worse Addison’s mother says that she forgives him even ‘if’ Wells killed her daughter. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Are you for real? Why in the hell would anyone not only date a child toucher, leave their kid with them, then forgive them when they may have killed your daughter?

There’s no hope for children when their supposed parents are more concerned with having an insignificant other.

Long time reader, first time posting. I just read on the Charlotte Observer website that they have now arrested the mother and charged both her and fucktard with involuntary manslaughter, and they listed Addison’s cause of death as sepsis. Apparently, Addison had a broken leg that went untreated, and became infected. That infection traveled into her blood and killed her. They said the fact that her face was so swollen and so was her body, was from the fact that she had to have had this infection for a long time! SO anyone who saw her in the last 1-2 weeks of her life had to of known something was not right with that poor child. BTW where is her father in all of this? just curious because I did not see anything mentioned about him. Anyway, I think there is more to this story that will come out…..(like how did her leg get broken anyhow). They should both be charged with Murder in the first, child abuse, child neglect, etc…….

I have to add my two cents in after reading one of the articles. This mom is full of shit!!! First off, I understand people fall on hard times. But lets not forget they were LIVING in a motel. Thats where the first problem begins. He was charged with two different sex crimes at two different times: sexual battery in Dec. and indecent liberties in Jan 2010. But the thing that pissed me off most was the comment a motel employee said about the mom having fallen on bad times and the mom believing she had found her “prince charming.” He was an unemployed convicted sex offender!! What part of that of that makes one think they’ve found their golden ticket and salvation? Also, i agree with the other posters about the bruises, they didn’t just come up right then…some yes but lll?? not so sure about that. I have NO sympathy for this mom right now.

I wanted to. But I also had to take into consideration that Trench refused to post her name until she has been charged. I had to honor that. I am sure there is more to this story than we are aware of. The police have to wait for the autopsy (I hate having to write that word about any child) and finish investigating and interrogating before they can make any more arrests. I am also pretty sure they want to make sure they have all their ducks in a row so that NO ONE is able to wiggle through any loop-hole. Looking at gorgeous George up there I am pretty sure he will be the guest of honor at an all-male blanket party before he gets placed in Safe Keeping.
UPDATE: Just read the news about this and no one has been charged with any crime as of this date.

“Scott Greene, of Greene Funeral Home has agreed to donate his company’s services to help (the childs mother) [sic].
”I said don’t worry about it,” said Greene, who is a step cousin to Lanham. “If I have to I will donate my services for free.”
It’s unclear when or where the funeral will be held, Greene said, because since he talked to Lanham late Friday afternoon, he has not heard back.
His company would need permission from Lanham to start the funeral process. Addison Grace has been at the hospital and ready to be released to a funeral home since Saturday, Greene said.
”Something needs to be done for that girl to get her services taken care of,” Greene said. “My main concern now is making sure she is taken care of.”
If Lanham decides to have the services through Greene Funeral Home, the fund proceeds will go to another child who is in need, the fund organizer said.
The funds would not be given to (the childs mother) [sic], the fund organizer said.”

Thank god they made it VERY clear that the mother would not get ANY proceeds from the funds, that is as sad at it gets when some many people are ready to help and donate (lord knows nobody has anything to give free in todays world!) and people are so scared they have to be reassured that THEIR hard earned money is not going to feed a MURDERING BILE OF TOXIC WASTE on the outside, (wish they could change that so we didn’t have to feed em’ on the inside but what can ya do!)

There’s a lot more to the story. This baby came into the ER and my family was also there (separate families, we don’t know Addison’s family). This baby was beaten so bad that her little head was swollen 3x over. Her eyes were swollen shut and she had a lot of broken bones. I think they do believe she was raped and she was still alive when she got to the hospital which means she lived through all the abuse. Both of these “Things” should be hung from the courthouse tree. “Mom” is no mom. Now, just 4 days later, she is opening a “trust fund” for the baby’s funeral. She’s been offered free funeral service by the best funeral home in Gaston County and she refused. She wants to soliciate money from well-intending humans to pay for the funeral (yeah, right) and then she stated that she would take the rest of the money and buy herself a house! Profitting from the back of her baby. Sad! I think she is in denial that she may be charged herself and she is planning to take the money and post bond for the boyfriend. It’s just sad. Fortunetly, Addison is in a better place now. Bless her heart, she won’t ever have to rely on her stupid “mother” to make good choices for her again.
