Father sentenced in abuse that left son blind and disabled

Pawtucket child abuser DeAnthony Allen gets maximum sentence

DeAnthony Allen (19) was sentenced on January 11th to 20 years in prison for leaving his infant son disabled and blind.

Allen was found guilty of one count of first degree child abuse for abusing, then 3-month-old, Johnnel Marks, in November.  According to the state Allen squeezed and shook Johnnel who suffered severe head trauma, a skull fracture and seven rib fractures.  Gawd Damn!

Johnnel, now 17-months-old was left clinically blind, will probably never walk, has seizures and his brain cells continue to deteriorate.  No worries though peeps Allen says he’s sorry and wants to apologize to his son.  Well too little to late ass-wipe!

Johnnel’s mother had this to say about Allen’s “apology.”

“Everything that DeAnthony was saying in there about one day he hopes he can apologize and say it to my son, well guess what, that’s not going to happen. He doesn’t need to face that monster anymore, he doesn’t. He did it that one time and that’s it. He took his sight and that was the last time he saw him and that’s the last time he’s going to see him.” said Stephanie Marks.

That’s right Stephanie, you go girl…more power to ya!

Johnnel was present in the courtroom for his father’s sentencing.

  1. Wooyeah, finally a mom who loves her baby!

    1. It is a nice change!

    2. But, umm…  isn’t this the same woman who failed to protect her baby from this man?  I don’t get why the group hug about the mom.

      1. If you read the mother’s comment you will see she says he seen the baby once and this happened the baby was 3 months old at the time. I hardly consider her handing him off to an abuser. She is doing what most of the others mothers here don’t she is standing up for her child and not the abuser, so yes I do think she should get some props for that.

      2. You can’t lump every wwoman together who has the misfortune of an abusive “baby daddy”. As much as I’d like to, I can’t stand guard over my son 24/7 for fear anyone will harm him. This was the child’s father, we don’t know what was happening, but we do know keeping a baby from his father is generally frowned upon and a cause of guilt for the mother wondering if shes doing the right thing. Maybe she is at fault, maybe she did ignore warning signs, we dont know, but shes obviously more interested in justice for her baby and keeping him away from the abuser than the typical parent on BB. Any other article and the moms statement would have gone something like this
“DeAnthony didn’t do nothing. The baby shook itself. I dont know what happened but I cant wait to be a family again” Then her sister would come to BB and tell us to get our facts straight.

        1. You summed that right up!

  2. Idk i have a feeling shes gonna hook up with another winner and will see this baby in the news again

  3. When Johnnel is old enough, he can decide if he wants to see his lousy excuse for a father, (if his poor little brain still works correctly by then),  but I can’t imagine it being a warm and fuzzy meeting. Johnnel has a reminder day in and day out of what DeAnthony is;  Sightlessness, severe physical handicaps and brain injury.  How can anyone do this kind of thing to a tiny baby? It mystifies me endlessly. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

    1. Let’s hope someone shanks DeAnthony in both eyes!

  4. I worked at a camp for children with special needs and one of the children there was a young girl who, born perfectly fine, was beaten by her father to the point of permanent disability, like this little boy.  Ten years later, her father got out of prison and moved in down the street from her.  Now, her mother is forced to see the man that disabled her daughter every day.  Sometimes, people never get the justice they deserve.  Ten years vs. a lifetime of having special needs?  And in this case posted, 20 yrs vs. a lifetime?  Ridiculous.

    1. Oh for one day, just one, of anarchy and vigilante justice. Then she wouldn’t have to see the guy at all. The situation is scarey. She needs to suddenly move out of state.
