That disappointed looking individual is one 46-year-old Sherri L. Turner of Kearney, Missouri. She’s accused of allowing her daughter’s friend to drive her in Turner’s car and her 16-year-old daughter to a fight that her daughter and her friend were going to be in. She also had 3 beers prior to 5:30pm. Well at least she had a designated driver.
As is usual in these cases the fight was captured on video.
Police say a video of the incident that ensued shows Turner encouraging the girl who drove her there and another girl while they continually hit and punched a different girl, who at times was on the ground being held by her attackers.
Turner has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
More bad-behaving parents at youth sports. This time, they’ve brought the violence down to the Pee Wee level. Date: this week. Location: Corpus Christi, Texas. The parents didn’t start the fire this time – it appears a coach did – but a few of them certainly didn’t mind getting in a few kicks for good measure. It sure looks that way. Thanks (?) to Karen for this hot tip about a video that was distributed on Myspace under the title “Jr. Ghetto Street Fights”. It depicts two young boys, apparently pre-teens, slugging one another in the face and tackling one another as the adults surrounding them shout words of encouragement such as, “Don’t let that nigga get up on you, my nigga!” Two of the adults refer repeatedly to one of the kids as “Peanut”, which is obviously a nickname, so I’m assuming that either one both of these people is the boy’s parent.
I may be imagining this, but…were the grown-ups betting on the fight? It looks like an exchange of money takes place at the end. I can’t tell for sure, though.
No word yet on who exactly the adults were, or if any charges will be filed. Police are appealing for information on the identity of the boys so that they can investigate. Good luck to them. Watching this is as disturbing as watching a cock fight. These two young kids have no idea what they’ve been cajoled into. They’re having it stamped on their brains at a young age that beating the shit out of other people is a jolly ol’ sport. I’ll be flabbergasted if no one loses their kid over this.
