While we’re bitching about Casey Anthony let’s not forget about Giovanni Gonzalez

Trench Reynolds

Ernesto and Giovanni Gonzalez

Age progressed photo of Giovanni Gonzalez

While we’re all whipped into a frenzy over the injustice of the Casey Anthony verdict let’s not forget about Giovanni Gonzalez.

Giovanni has been missing since 2008 and his father, Ernesto, is still sitting in jail and refuses to tell where his son is.

This is a case that could use the attention that the Casey Anthony case got but it’s not.

You can see all my previous posts on Giovanni here.

Parental kidnap charge tossed against Lynn dad:

Kidnapping Charge Tossed In Missing Boy Case:

This past Monday a judge threw out the kidnapping charge against Ernesto Gonzalez. He is the father of Giovanni Gonzalez who has been missing since August of 2008.

Quick recap, a then 5-year-old Giovanni spent the weekend with his father in Lynn, Massachusetts. When it came time to be returned to his mother Ernesto Gonzalez said he didn’t know where Giovanni was and hasn’t given his location since. Ernesto Gonzalez has claimed that he killed his son but police say there is no evidence to support that.

In the most recent development a Superior Court judge threw out the kidnapping charge against him stating that Ernesto Gonzalez did have parental rights to Giovanni since he had paid some child support and filed for joint custody.

However not all is lost. Ernesto Gonzalez is still sitting in jail on a charge of lying to police.

Meanwhile Giovanni has yet to be found and has yet to garner any media attention outside of the Massachusetts media and a brief AMW mention.

I ask that you please post this story on your Facebook or Twitter accounts or e-mail the national news networks to help get Giovanni’s story out and maybe this story can have a happy ending.

The boy remains missing. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Lynn police at 781-477-4436

Giovanni Gonzalez’s father wants charges dismissed

Trench Reynolds

Ernesto & Giovanni Gonzlalez

Missing child’s dad: Dismiss charges:

Ernesto Gonzalez is the father of Giovanni Gonzalez who has been missing since August of 2008. The elder Gonzalez is believed to have been involved with the disappearance of his son and has been sitting in jail on parental kidnapping and obstruction charges since he won’t divulge any information about where his son is. He previously claimed to a Boston newspaper that he killed his son but police have their doubts about that.

Now the public defender for Gonzalez will be filing a motion in court to have the charges dismissed due to lack of evidence. That will be argued in court on March 30th.

I can’t really add much to this except to say that people have been convicted with out a ‘body’ so to speak. So don’t be surprised if new charges will be filed against him.

Age-progressed photo of Giovanni Gonzalez:

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has released a computer enhanced photo that show what they thing Giovanni Gonzalez would look like today.

Giovanni went missing from Lynn, Massachusetts back in 2008. His father, Ernesto Gonzalez, is being held in jail and refuses to tell where Giovanni is now. He has claimed that he killed Giovanni but police say that there is no evidence to support that.

Giovanni if still alive would be seven years old currently.

Still no national media attention for Giovanni.

Blood found in Giovanni Gonzalez investigation

Trench Reynolds

Boy’s blood in father’s apartment:

More bad news on the search for Giovanni Gonzalez. It’s been released recently that investigators found a substantial amount of Giovanni’s blood in the apartment of his father Ernesto Gonzalez.

As you may recall then 5-year-old Giovanni went missing from Lynn, Mass. almost two years ago and was last seen with his father. When questioned about Giovanni’s disappearance his father said nothing and was eventually arrested. While in jail he told a Boston reporter that he killed Giovanni and dismembered his body before placing it in several different dumpsters around town.

Now it’s been released that forensics evidence has shown that Giovanni’s blood was found on a knife, a piece of flooring, on the bathroom threshold and a the cap on a cleaner.

Now maybe I watch too much true crime TV but to me that sounds like there was a great deal of blood and Gonzalez attemp6ted to clean up the majority of it however it’s almost impossible to get it out of the nooks and crannies that forensic experts were finding it in.

Giovanni’s mother, Daisy Colon is still hoping that her son is alive and said that Giovanni used to bleed all the time from cuts and scrapes while playing and had a nose bleed right before he went to visit his father.

Police are saying it’s still too early to say if Giovanni has been killed yet however they seem to be focusing more on the forensic evidence then any searches.

I’m really hoping against hope that Giovanni is still alive but again it’s not looking too good unfortunately.

And again I reiterate that it’s a damn shame that national media outlets that have talking clown heads posing as ‘journalists’ have given this case no attention whatsoever.

Giovanni Gonzalez may no longer be with us

Trench Reynolds

Missing boy’s father judged ready for trial:

The article is about how Ernesto Gonzalez has been ruled competent to stand trial. And if you’ll recall he claimed to a Boston newspaper that he killed Giovanni, dismembered his body and threw the remains in three different dumpsters around Lynn, Mass.

Even though Giovanni has yet to be found the article contained something I didn’t know…

In court documents filed by Curran she states five searches of the apartment were conducted in which authorities said they discovered blood on a knife and on a floorboard. The blood was identified by a state crime lab and a private lab, Cellmark Diagnostics of Dallas, as Giovanni’s

The only thing at this point that is keeping my7 hope alive is that I don’t think it’s made public just how much blood has been found.

And hey, while I’m thinking about it if you have a friend who talks about missing child stories and happens to watch a certain helmet headed commentator on TV please tell them about Giovanni.

Nancy Grace sues to keep deposition private

Trench Reynolds

Nancy Grace Camera Shy?:

How’s this for irony? Nancy Grace is being sued by the family of Melinda Duckett for causing Duckett’s suicide. If you don’t know the story Melinda Duckett was believed to have had some involvement in the disappearance of her son Trenton Duckett who to this day has not been found.

Duckett was a guest on Grace’s show in 2006 and Grace grilled her on the show as to where Trenton was. The next day Melinda Duckett committed suicide probably sealing the fate of Trenton who, like I said, has still yet to be found.

Now Grace is suing to keep her videotaped depositin from being leaked for fear that someone would…

“cut and splice” and “manipulate” her words into sound bites that would appear “wholly out of context.”

I think the HQ of the Irony Police just exploded.

Secondly I have a question for the legal experts out there. Why was she never charged with hindering an ongoing investigation by putting Duckett on the air and interrogating her on nationwide TV if Duckett was their main suspect?

Lastly I do have something personal against Ms. Grace. She’s a cherry picker. She picks stories that have already captured the ‘imaginiation’ of America by focusing on stories like Casey Anthony and Haleigh Cummings. However when I spoke to her my self on a live podcast, not mine of course, and told her about the case of Giovanni Gonzalez she seemed interested and took all the information I had to give her yet no mention of Giovanni has ever came from her lips on any of her broadcasts. The whole time I was talking to her I fet like I was making a deal with the devil but I didn’t care because I thought any help to find Giovanni would be appreciated.

She doesn’t really care about children in my opinion. She only cares about ratings.

Trench talks to Nancy Grace about Giovanni Gonzalez

Trench Reynolds

Last night on the Levi Page Show Mr. Page had Nancy Grace on as a guest.

She was there to talk about her new book but I took it upon myself to call in and ask her for her help in getting national exposure for the case.

When I spoke with her she seemed very interested in Giovanni’s plight. The entire episode can be heard here.

Hopefully Giovani’s story can get some national press and maybe bring him home.

Giovanni Gonzalez: One Year Later

Trench Reynolds

1 year since Giovanni vanished:

This past Saturday it’s been a year since Giovanni Gonzalez went missing.

It’s been a year since his father, Ernesto Gonzales, has been sitting in jail unwilling to help police.

In that year the only major media outlet outside of the Boston area to help in the search for Giovanni was a 15 second feature on America’s Most Wanted.

Yet in that year we’ve been bombarded with wall to wall coverage of Casey Anthony.

Reward offered for Giovanni Gonzalez’s return

Trench Reynolds

Reward Offered For Missing Lynn Boy:

It’s hard to believe that it’s been nine months since Giovanni Gonzalez disappeared. If you don’t know who Giovanni Gonzalez is I’m not surprised. The story has hardly been a blip on the national media’s radar.

Giovanni is a 6-year-old boy from Boston who back in August of last year was supposed to have spent the weekend with his sperm donor, Ernesto Gonzalez of Lynn, Mass. When Giovanni’s mother went to pick Giovanni up he was gone and Ernesto Gonzalez said that he didn’t know what happened to him. Ernesto has been in jail ever since, refusing to give police any information on his son’s whereabouts.

Ernesto Gonzalez gave an interview to Boston media claiming that he killed Giovanni but police say there’s no evidence to back that claim up.

National (U.S.) media could probably assist a great deal helping to find Giovanni but they’re too interested in the Casey Anthony story. The only national media outlet that has featured Giovanni’s story is America’s Most Wanted.

Ok, enough ranting for now.

Anyway the police in Lynn, Mass. are offering a $7,000 reward for for the return of Giovanni Gonzalez.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lynn police at 781-477-4436.

Since national media won’t help to find Giovanni I guess it’s up to us. Please spread the word about Giovanni’s plight. Let’s do what the national media refuses to do. Let’s help get Giovanni home.
