Creepy Indiana guy charged with shaking stepdaughter

Trench Reynolds

Man admits to shaking infant stepchild:

Unfortunately I can’t post every story that is sent in to me. There’s so much evil being perpetrated against children by their caregivers that if I didn’t pass on some stories I’d would spend all my time posting on this site. So I’ve taken to posting those stories where the suspects have that one extra something that sets them apart and makes them more evil than other child abusers. In this case a mugshot is that extra thing.

Creepy McViolent over there is 20-year-old Matthew Schulz of Lafayette, Indiana. He accused of violently shaking his 15-week-old stepdaughter on 5 separate occasions and putting her in the hospital. At the time of the article the girl was in stable condition. Again this is another case where the suspect allegedly shook the baby because she wouldn’t stop crying.

I know we’re not supposed to judge a book by the cover but this guy looks like anger personified.

Thanks to Erin for the tip and I apologize in taking so long to post it.

Drunk mom passes out while baby freezes

Trench Reynolds

Cops: Baby found in cold near drunk mom:

That’s 30-year-old Vivian E. Hampton of Lafayette, Indiana. She was arrested for being passed out drunk in a neighbor’s yard. What makes it of interest to this site is that she happened to have one-year-old daughter with her when she passed out.

When police found Hampton she was dressed in a fully zipped up winter coat because it was a wind chill of 38F in Lafayette last week. Meanwhile the baby only had a light dress and a full diaper on.

Luckily the baby only had minor injuries.

Here’s the kicker…

Police said an officer found a baby stroller against a garage on Burroughs Street and in the stroller was a half empty bottle of cherry vodka.

I’m curious to know what Hampton’s BAC was.

Anyway, I guess it needs to be said again. Your children are more importnat than getting your drink on.

I’m sure we’ll be hearing some sob story of why she was out on the streets drunk with a bottle of cherry vodka and her baby.

Thanks to Erin for the tip.

More on the death of Sam Udomeh

Trench Reynolds

I received an e-mail the other day from someone who attended the candlelight vigil for Sam Udomeh. He’s the 11-year-old boy that was killed by his mother, Sandra Renia Joseph, when she allegedly struck him repeatedly with her SUV.

In my original post I wondered if there was a part of the story that we were missing. In the e-mail I received the person said that they were told by Jospeh’s long time friends that Joseph did have a history of bi-polar disorder but it was unknown if she was on medication or not.

The e-mailer also wanted me to know that prior to this that by all accounts Joseph was a dedicated mother to Sam.

Ex-cop in La. ran over 11-year-old son

Trench Reynolds

Investigators say mother admitted to running over 11-year-old son:

49-year-old Sandra Renia Joseph of Lafayette, Louisiana has allegdly admitted to police that she ran over her 11-year-old son, Sam Udomeh, repeatedly with her SUV.

Joseph is a former Lafayette police officer who was currently working for DSS in Lafayette.

Investigators have said that there were multiple points of impact on Sam’s body. The likely cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Joseph allegedly admitted to police that she ran over her son on purpose. The only thing missing from this story is a motive which police have not commented on.

Something just doesn’t feel right about this story. I’m not saying that Joseph shouldn’t have been arrested but it almost feels like there was some outside contributing factor that we haven’t heard about yet like maybe drugs or mental illness even though Joseph has a history of neither.

Thanks to Tina for the tip.
