Doctors claim that father of missing Giovanni Gonzalez is competent

Doctors claim that father of missing Giovanni Gonzalez is competent

Ernesto Gonzalez

It’s been 8 years since then 5-year old Giovanni Gonzalez disappeared. In 2008, Giovanni was supposed to have spent the weekend with his father Ernesto Gonzalez in Lynn, Massachusetts. When it came time for Giovanni to be returned to his mother, Ernesto Gonzalez never returned him and Giovanni has been missing since. After being arrested for Giovanni’s disappearance, the elder Gonzalez claimed that he murdered Giovanni, but authorities claim that there is no evidence that corroborates that story.

After having kidnapping charges against him dropped Ernesto Gonzalez has been held in a Massachusetts mental hospital. Now that hospital is claiming that Ernesto Gonzalez is mentally competent. This starts the process for Gonzalez to stand trial in the disappearance of his son. The next step is for Gonzalez to be examined by doctors from both the defense and the prosecution to see whether he is fit for trial.

As I have previously stated, I unfortunately don’t believe Giovanni is alive, even though I pray that he is. If he is still alive he us believed to be either still in the Lynn area or in Puerto Rico. I’ve included his most recent missing poster from the NCMEC below.

Judge dismisses charges against father of Giovanni Gonzalez, who disappeared in Lynn five years ago:

Sad news out of Massachusetts today when an Essex County Superior Court judge dismissed charges of parental kidnapping against Ernesto Gonzalez. Gonzalez is the main person of interest in the 2008 disappearance of his son, 5-year-old Giovanni Gonzalez. Giovanni was visiting his dad for a weekend but when it came time to return Giovanni to his mother Ernesto Gonzalez never returned him. He claims that he murdered Giovanni but investigators say there is no evidence to those claims.

Unfortunately this is not surprising as earlier this year Ernesto Gonzalez was ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial.

Gonzalez is far from a free man though. He’s been committed to a state mental facility who just requested an extension on his current stay. Not to mention he also assaulted an inmate and a guard.

Due to the lack of evidence I’m still hoping against hope that Giovanni is alive and that hopefully some new program or crime show will bring his story to at least a national audience.

Giovanni Gonzalez’s father ruled incompetent to stand trial in son’s disappearance

Judge: Man incompetent to stand trial of missing son:

Not only has it been over a year since Giovanni Gonzalez’s disappearance has been mentioned in the media, it’s been five years since he first went missing. For those of you not familiar with his story in 2008 a then 5-year-old Giovanni Gonzalez was picked up by his father so he could spend the weekend with him in Lynn, Massachusetts. Once the weekend was over Giovanni was not returned to his mother and his father, Ernesto Gonzalez, claimed he had no idea where his son was. Some of Giovanni’s blood was found in Ernesto’s apartment but it was not enough to prove any kind of murder had taken place and Giovanni’s body has never been found. Ernesto Gonzalez has been sitting in jail since his son first disappeared.

Unfortunately the most recent development is not such great news. This past week a Massachusetts judge ruled Ernesto Gonzalez incompetent to stand trial in Giovanni’s disappearance. While Ernesto Gonzalez probably won’t be going free anytime soon due to his mental state and other pending charges I’m afraid that Giovanni may never come home now.

Kidnapping charges reinstated against Ernesto Gonzalez

State’s highest court reinstates parental kidnapping charge against father of missing Lynn boy:

It’s been a long time that we’ve heard any news in the story of missing child Giovanni Gonzalez. As a matter of fact it’s been almost a year to the day.

Quick recap, in 2008 a then 5-year-old Giovanni spent the weekend with his father in Lynn, Massachusetts. When it came time to be returned to his mother Ernesto Gonzalez said he didn’t know where Giovanni was and hasn’t given his location since. Ernesto Gonzalez has claimed that he killed his son but police say there is no evidence to support that. I can’t believe that Giovanni has been missing now for four years.

In my last post about Giovanni I posted about how the parental kidnapping charges against Ernesto Gonzalez had been dropped against him because a Superior Court judge stated that Ernesto Gonzalez did have parental rights to Giovanni since he had paid some child support and filed for joint custody.

This past week the parental kidnapping charges have been reinstated against Gonzalez.

The high court, in a 15-page opinion written by Justice Barbara Lenk, said it didn’t have to reach the constitutional question because another part of the law also provides that if “either parent relinquishes or abandons the child and the other parent is fit to have custody, that parent shall be entitled to custody.”

The court said Gonzalez had been absent for three years from his son’s life, including a one-year complete disappearance. He had sought permission from the mother to have weekend visits with his son. His son disappeared on the third visit with him, in mid-August 2008.

While this is good new unfortunately it doesn’t bring Giovanni back to his mother, Daisy Colon, who still believes that Giovanni is alive.

Salem breeder slashes her kids’ throats and set the place on fire

Goodwin: ‘I Did What I Had To Do To Protect My Children’
Kids found slashed in home fire; mom charged
Tanicia Goodwin Charged With Slashing Kids’ Throats, Setting Apartment On Fire

Tanicia Goodwin, alleged baby throat slasher and arsonist.

I don’t usually start my stories telling you the ending, but I feel I must in this case. The two kids in this story are still alive. In critical condition, but alive nonetheless.

Tanicia Goodwin, 25, of Salem, MA, did the unthinkable (don’t they all?).  She has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and arson after she slit the throats of her 2 babies, doused them in lighter fluid,  and set her apartment on fire.  She sits in jail without bond while the she waits for her court date next week.  She has plead not guilty.

Not sure how you plead not guilty after you walk into a police station covered in blood and lighter fluid, smash a glass display case in the lobby, then say  “I did what I had to do to protect my children.”   According to police, she smelled of lighter fluid, had red liquid on her clothing and ash on her hands. Police said she had a “superficial” cut on her neck as well.  “I’m sorry, I had to protect my babies,” she told police. Fuck, protect them from what? The boogie man doesn’t have shit on you lady.

Back at her apartment, her kids were being rescued by firefighters. Her 8-year old boy Jamal, was found inside the apartment with his throat slashed so deeply that his trachea was showing. He wasn’t able to speak or move, and hardly able to breath. When firefighters asked him if his mother did this to him, he was able to nod.  Her 3-year old, Erica, was found face down and bleeding from her throat at a neighbor’s empty apartment. Tanicia had gone to this neighbor’s apartment with her and the firefighters actually saw them both before responding to the fire, but didn’t notice the girl’s wounds. Didn’t the fucking neighbors notice? While everyone was evacuating the building, she dumped her little girl on the couch face down, and left her alone to run to the police station. It was only by chance that a firefighter happened upon her while checking apartments to be sure everyone had gotten out safely.

As if it could get worse,  not only did she set the fire but also disabled the apartment’s smoke alarms, removed the interior doorknob and blocked the vents and nearly every sprinkler with duct tape and rags. Guess she really wanted to get the job done.  In her interview with police, she wouldn’t say much at first. She kept asking about the well being of her children, asking if they were alive.  “I’m not supposed to be here. … I’m not supposed to be alive”, she told them.  Guess she was going to off herself too, too bad that didn’t work out.  Police asked her if her husband or boyfriend had hurt her kids and she nodded no. When they asked her if she had hurt them, she shook her head yes.

Police recovered three cans of lighter fluid at the apartment, as well as a large kitchen knife,  which they believe to be what she used to cut her kids.

Both children were flown to Children’s Hospital Boston in critical condition. Nurses  had to wipe lighter fluid off both children before they could be treated. They’ve both undergone surgeries and Jamal is listed as critical condition as of yesterday, Erica in stable condition.

Another tidbit about Tanicia is that she only regained custody of Jamal in 2010 after voluntarily giving him up in 2007 to a cousin so that she could earn her GED and college degree. Um ok. I’ll refrain from commenting on this.  But I will ask, you can’t go to school and be a mom like the fucking rest of us?

Thank GOD Jamal and Erica are alive. If we can find a silver lining, that’s it.  No word on their dad or dads. Or on any family members stepping up to take care of these babies while this c*** serves her time. I hope they don’t end up in the system, but I suppose anywhere is better than with her. I hope she gets more than a slap on the wrist for her brutalities and direct disregard for human life. I smell an insanity pleas though and a “history of mental illness” story as well. Let’s hope the judge gets it right though.

Thanks to all who sent in the tips on this one.

While we're bitching about Casey Anthony let's not forget about Giovanni Gonzalez

Ernesto and Giovanni Gonzalez

While we’re all whipped into a frenzy over the injustice of the Casey Anthony verdict let’s not forget about Giovanni Gonzalez.

Giovanni has been missing since 2008 and his father, Ernesto, is still sitting in jail and refuses to tell where his son is.

This is a case that could use the attention that the Casey Anthony case got but it’s not.

Kidnapping charges dropped against Giovanni Gonzalez's father

Parental kidnap charge tossed against Lynn dad:

Kidnapping Charge Tossed In Missing Boy Case:

This past Monday a judge threw out the kidnapping charge against Ernesto Gonzalez. He is the father of Giovanni Gonzalez who has been missing since August of 2008.

Quick recap, a then 5-year-old Giovanni spent the weekend with his father in Lynn, Massachusetts. When it came time to be returned to his mother Ernesto Gonzalez said he didn’t know where Giovanni was and hasn’t given his location since. Ernesto Gonzalez has claimed that he killed his son but police say there is no evidence to support that.

In the most recent development a Superior Court judge threw out the kidnapping charge against him stating that Ernesto Gonzalez did have parental rights to Giovanni since he had paid some child support and filed for joint custody.

However not all is lost. Ernesto Gonzalez is still sitting in jail on a charge of lying to police.

Meanwhile Giovanni has yet to be found and has yet to garner any media attention outside of the Massachusetts media and a brief AMW mention.

I ask that you please post this story on your Facebook or Twitter accounts or e-mail the national news networks to help get Giovanni’s story out and maybe this story can have a happy ending.

The boy remains missing. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Lynn police at 781-477-4436

Giovanni Gonzalez's father wants charges dismissed

Ernesto & Giovanni Gonzlalez

Missing child’s dad: Dismiss charges:

Ernesto Gonzalez is the father of Giovanni Gonzalez who has been missing since August of 2008. The elder Gonzalez is believed to have been involved with the disappearance of his son and has been sitting in jail on parental kidnapping and obstruction charges since he won’t divulge any information about where his son is. He previously claimed to a Boston newspaper that he killed his son but police have their doubts about that.

Now the public defender for Gonzalez will be filing a motion in court to have the charges dismissed due to lack of evidence. That will be argued in court on March 30th.

I can’t really add much to this except to say that people have been convicted with out a ‘body’ so to speak. So don’t be surprised if new charges will be filed against him.

Age-progressed photo of Giovanni Gonzalez:

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has released a computer enhanced photo that show what they thing Giovanni Gonzalez would look like today.

Giovanni went missing from Lynn, Massachusetts back in 2008. His father, Ernesto Gonzalez, is being held in jail and refuses to tell where Giovanni is now. He has claimed that he killed Giovanni but police say that there is no evidence to support that.

Giovanni if still alive would be seven years old currently.

Still no national media attention for Giovanni.

Blood found in Giovanni Gonzalez investigation

Boy’s blood in father’s apartment:

More bad news on the search for Giovanni Gonzalez. It’s been released recently that investigators found a substantial amount of Giovanni’s blood in the apartment of his father Ernesto Gonzalez.

As you may recall then 5-year-old Giovanni went missing from Lynn, Mass. almost two years ago and was last seen with his father. When questioned about Giovanni’s disappearance his father said nothing and was eventually arrested. While in jail he told a Boston reporter that he killed Giovanni and dismembered his body before placing it in several different dumpsters around town.

Now it’s been released that forensics evidence has shown that Giovanni’s blood was found on a knife, a piece of flooring, on the bathroom threshold and a the cap on a cleaner.

Now maybe I watch too much true crime TV but to me that sounds like there was a great deal of blood and Gonzalez attemp6ted to clean up the majority of it however it’s almost impossible to get it out of the nooks and crannies that forensic experts were finding it in.

Giovanni’s mother, Daisy Colon is still hoping that her son is alive and said that Giovanni used to bleed all the time from cuts and scrapes while playing and had a nose bleed right before he went to visit his father.

Police are saying it’s still too early to say if Giovanni has been killed yet however they seem to be focusing more on the forensic evidence then any searches.

I’m really hoping against hope that Giovanni is still alive but again it’s not looking too good unfortunately.

And again I reiterate that it’s a damn shame that national media outlets that have talking clown heads posing as ‘journalists’ have given this case no attention whatsoever.
