Coronial inquest into death of boy who died in a washing machine

Mum a suspect in son’s washing machine death

Police target parents over washing machine death

A little boy died, along with his pet cat, in a front loader washing machine while his mother took a nap. An inquest has been launched into how the little boy and the cat ended up there.

Rewind to 2010. Kerry Murphy allegedly awoke from a nap on the afternoon of September 20, 2010 at her Perth home and found her 3 year old son Sean Murphy unconscious in the drum of the front loader, along with the body of his pet cat named Snowy. Sean suffered horrendous injuries and went to join Snowy on the Rainbow Bridge. An autopsy was carried out on Sean’s small body, but an exact cause of death could not be confirmed. Sean’s body showed injuries consistent with entrapment, and the coroner ruled that this would most likely have contributed to his death.

When officers turned up to question Kerry and to survey the scene, they found the house to be full of animal shit and smelling of smoke. Not only is it disgusting and unhealthy to smoke inside a house, but Kerry and Sean, along with Kerry’s boy toy Craig Sheppard, were living in a Department of Housing property, where smoking is not allowed inside. Kerry was screaming “I’ve killed my baby, I know it”. Later she explained that what she meant by that was that she felt responsible for Sean’s death because she was sleeping instead of watching him.

Boy Toy and Kerry are still suspects in Sean and Snowy’s deaths, even though Boy Toy was at work that day. Boy Toy is not the father of Sean. The medical examiner was looking for signs of drowning, suffocation and beating but could not determine either way because of the extensive injuries that Sean suffered from being tumbled around in the washing machine.

The inquest has heard that, after mechanical tests performed on the washing machine, that it would have been very difficult to close the door from the inside because the door locked from the outside. Kerry suggested that the dog may have knocked it shut. The police considered that, with enough force, it was possible to push the door hard enough so that it would bounce back and close. However the WA coroner said that it would have been very difficult for Sean to do that, because of the angle of the door in relation to his body. The police agreed with the coroner that it would be a tight fit, even for a 3 year old, and observed that Sean had markings on his body that matched the drum of the washing machine.

More witnesses are expected to testify, along with Kerry and her Boy Toy. The inquest is expected to hear some interesting gems such as how Kerry was trying to get Sean diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and how Kerry was not dealing with motherhood very well.

Kerry and Boy Toy were going to get married, but have since split up.

It’s not unusual to hear of stories of cats accidentally being locked in the washing machine. That’s why you always keep the lid/door closed and double check before setting the machine away. The same goes for when you have children. You teach them not to play in the washing machine. Children are teachable, cats – not so much. I haven’t heard of any autopsy being done on Snowy, but I really hope that this was an accident and that it did not play out like I think it played out. (Kerry killed Snowy to “punish” Sean, Sean screams and cries as any child who has lost a pet would, so Kerry stuffs Sean in the washing machine along with Snowy and sets it away. Or Kerry stuffs both of them in the machine and sets it away because they interrupted her nap) I really hope it’s just Snowy got stuck in the washing machine, Sean tried to save him and they both got stuck. Otherwise, there’s a special prison treatment for people who harm animals and children, and big Sheila is more than willing to dole it out.

The inquest continues.

RIP Sean and Snowy. Cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

Another “mother” lies down on the job…

Mum slept while children died, inquest told

WA mum Miranda Hebble ‘not depressed’ when boys died – partner

Babies died in shower, inquest hears

290413genhebble03_18nrtg8-18nrtgg

Miranda Hebble took a little nap…and her babies paid for it with their lives!

An inquest is being held into the deaths of two little babies who were left in the shower as their 22 year old birth vessel Miranda Hebble slept. The WA coroner is investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Lochlan James Stevens (2) and Malachi Isaac Stevens (10 months) who died in November 2008.

The story so far…little Lochlan had gotten into his nappy and smeared crap all over himself, the wall, and his baby brother’s cot. I guess you could say he was bored shitless (badum-tish). The next day (!) Miranda decided to put both of them in the shower, a little rub-a-dub-dub should get the doo-doo off. She told the inquest that she went back into her bedroom (while the babies were still under the shower with the door closed!), saw “white speckly things” and passed out or fell asleep. 10 hours later, she awoke to find the bathroom full of steam, the shower full of water and her babies floating in the water. They were stone cold dead.

An autopsy has not been able to determine exactly how the boys died, but the coroner says that they could not confirm nor rule out drowning as a cause. Lochlan was found in a sleeping position, with blood coming from his mouth, a mark on his stomach and a scratch to the forehead. Malachi was floating in the water. The coroner has indicated that baby Malachi probably did drown, while Lochlan may have suffered from a combination of hunger, exhaustion, and possibly hypothermia from the water. The shower plughole had become clogged because the contents of the vanity unit were scattered everywhere (presumably by the boys). So not only did their birth vessel leave them unsupervised in the bathroom, letting them play with potentially dangerous items such as razors, but also wasn’t taking care of Lochlan properly, letting him go hungry and not ensuring he slept enough. Neglectful c***.

The boys’ dad, Christopher Stevens, also testified at the inquest. He told the court about an earlier incident in February 2008, where Miranda had left baby Malachi in the car while returning a DVD. Her reasoning behind this was that she was tired and that she was afraid that she would drop him. If you’re too tired to hold a baby, you probably shouldn’t be driving either! Police pulled Malachi from car, hot, sweaty and screaming. Christopher was working in the mines on a fly-in-fly-out basis, and was away at the time of the babies’ deaths. He further added that Miranda was anemic and had problems with sleeping patterns. Instead of taking naps with the children, she would watch cartoons, and was known to sleep through her babies’ crying or screaming. This would explain why Lochlan was hungry and exhausted: his birth vessel would sleep instead of feeding him and the elevated stress levels from him screaming in hunger (plus being hungry)  would have stopped him from sleeping.

Christopher said of his former partner that she was a quiet and antisocial person who kept to herself. He didn’t think she was depressed, and she had no drugs or alcohol in her system when police questioned her. The inquest will examine why she slept for 10 hours after “passing out”. The counsel assisting the coroner said that Miranda didn’t have a history of mental illness or drug and alcohol abuse. She was a quiet person who was struggling with sleep because of Malachi’s restlessness. The babies’ paternal grandfather testified that he thought that Miranda was a good mother but was probably not emotionally mature enough to handle two children. He further added that she and Christopher had gone through a rough patch because Miranda had not been doing any housekeeping while Christopher was away.

The inquest is continuing.

Before anyone screams “You don’t know her!” or “It’s hard taking care of two kids by yourself”, riddle me this: if Miranda knew she had health issues that were preventing her from looking after her children correctly, why the fuck did she not ask for help? FIFO mine workers make a fuckload of money, surely she could have hired a nanny to help out? Ask the grandparents to care for them until she got her health issues under control?  They were little babies, it wasn’t like they couldn’t be uprooted from their school to go live with their grandparents for a while. But no. She was being stupid and selfish by trying to go it alone, even though she knew full well she couldn’t do it. And who the fuck puts babies in the shower?! And then LEAVES? Stupid tw*t c***. I really feel for the babies’ Dad. Imagine coming home from a 4 week (or longer) stint away from your family, only to find that the woman you trusted to care for your children is incompetent and stupid, and that her idiocy has killed your babies. Dad split up from the incompetent tw*t and has now found love in a new relationship. Hopefully this new woman can help him heal from the devastation of losing his babies to a stupid and thoughtless she-devil.

Rest in Peace little Lochlan and baby Malachi. Free forever on the other side of the rainbow.

Perth parents due to be sentenced

Johnstone and Minett

Johnstone and Minett

Perth duo plead guilty to child neglect:

Amber Minett, 27, and her live in sex toy Cassidy Johnstone, 25, have pleaded guilty to child neglect. At eight moths old Levi Mippi was injured in an unexplained incident at the home his mother and her blow in boyfriend. The charges of neglect pertain to not getting medical treatment for the child, after the unexplained incident.

Let’s hold up here. This is an eight month old baby, if the baby was left alone long enough for the injuries to be self-inflicted, should this not carry and extra charge for failing to supervise your child adequately? If these injuries were deemed by a professional, not plausibly caused by the infant left unsupervised to roll on the floor or what not, why why why are they both not facing extra charges for the harm that’s been caused to this child? Because they’ve kept the true horror of what poor Levi had to endure to themselves? Protecting her boyfriend maybe? Where was her protection for her son, when he needed her, or if she’s the monster that’s responsible, why has he not thrown her under the bus, literally and figuratively? Or are they both neglectful abusive oxygen thieves?

Levi only received medical treatment approximately 24 hours after the initial indecent had occurred. Levi’s paternal grandmother, Doris Mippi, was his saving grace although too late to un-do the irreparable damage done while in the care of his mother and her boyfriend, luckily in time to save his precious life.

Doris Mippi is now Levi’s career, Levi is now 22 months old, and instead of running, playing and exploring the world like he should be, he is now blind, quadriplegic, and several suffers seizures daily. He requires medication for the rest of his life.

The pathetic pair face the courts in may this year, the maximum penalty for the charges carries a ten-year jail sentence, lets hope that the judge also imposes more time for the fact that this child has his disabilities for life.

Burgle a house, but bring the kids along so they don’t feel left out

Kids in getaway car as couple burgle house

Kids in getaway car as WA couple burgle Warnbro house

704332-pn-police-forensic

A Perth couple seemed to think it was “bring your kids to work day” when they decided to leave their six year old boy and three year old twin boys in their getaway car, while they broke into a home at Warnbro on Monday morning. Too bad that “bring your kids to work day” only applies to real jobs where you actually have to work for a dollar, and not take things from people that actually work just because you’re too lazy to go to work.

Police say that the burgling breeders, both aged 29, broke into the Warnbro home and stole a laptop and some jewellery. They tried to leave in the getaway car that was parked in the driveway, but an observant neighbour who had called police when he saw them, stalled them until the police arrived. It’s also alleged that the male burglar assaulted the neighbour, further delaying them. Nice going there, dipshit. What are you teaching your kids? That it’s okay to take things that don’t belong to you, because you won’t work for the money to get those things, and bash anyone who gets in your way?

The burgling breeders have been charged with aggravated burglary, stealing and assault with intent. They will appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court next Tuesday.

Jesus H. Christ, you dunderheads! First of all, don’t break into people’s homes and steal things. If you must steal things because you won’t get a job and want to support a drug habit, leave your kids with a babysitter or something. Or wait until they’re in school before going on a pinching spree. Or just don’t steal in the first place!

“Cot death” baby found to have alcohol in system

Cot death: Father denies giving baby alcohol

Dead baby found with alcohol in blood

Baby inquest: expert dismisses father’s theory

An inquest has been held for a little baby boy who died in 2008, which found that the baby had a BAC of 0.03. The legal BAC limit for fully licensed drivers in Australia is 0.05, and can easily be reached by two standard drinks.

Little baby Shorn died in November 2008 after his father found him not breathing in his cot at the family’s home in Parmelia, southern Perth WA. After he was rushed to hospital, Shorn was given up to a dozen doses of adrenaline, and doctors found a faint pulse. However, baby Shorn suffered a cardiac arrest and had to be transferred to Perth where he died two days later. He was 46 days old. His mother was in hospital because she had problems with her Caesarean scar. I hope that she wasn’t in the same hospital as her baby. Imagine being in hospital and hearing that your baby died when your partner was supposed to be caring for him?

Doctors initially believed that Shorn had died from SIDS or cot death. An adult sized pillow was placed into Shorn’s cot and his father found him face-down in the pillow. There were no external signs of trauma and the pathologist couldn’t pinpoint an exact cause for Shorn’s death. However, when Shorn was admitted to hospital, a blood test was conducted and the doctors found the alcohol in his system. Now how did that get in there?

Shorn’s father initially told police that he hadn’t been drinking at the time of the incident, but later admitted that he had two cans of bourbon and coke before turning in for the night and that he only ever fed Shorn baby formula. He suggested that the alcohol may have transferred to Shorn when he was doing CPR and mouth to mouth on him. He also suggested that Shorn’s bottles may have been sterilised with alcohol and that’s how it got into him. The inquest heard that alcohol wasn’t used to sterilise the bottles and that there wasn’t any alcohol in the formula. The deputy coroner noted that if the mixed formula was left standing for a few days, it could produce some alcohol. She noted that this had happened with a bottle of formula that Shorn’s father had made and left on the coffee table when he found his son. The formula had been sitting there for three days and produced an alcohol reading of 0.019%. It was not likely that it was involved with the alcohol in the baby’s system. The coroner also noted that when she was young, alcohol was commonly used to soothe babies and that Shorn had a history of being hard to settle.

The toxicologist said that the reading would have been much higher when Shorn was found that morning. Dad had last fed him around 10pm the night before and put him to bed. He discounted the theory of the sterilisation and the CPR, and stated that a teaspoon of spirits such as bourbon, whiskey or gin could have caused the baby’s reading to be so high. The expert could not confidently say that the alcohol caused the baby’s death or that he had a lethal amount in his system. The level measured at the hospital wasn’t lethal, but anything over 0.01 was concerning. He said that alcohol had a sedative effect on babies, and that it affects their breathing, posture control and gag reflex.

The inquest is continuing, with the father yet to give evidence. The coroner has urged him to tell the truth, even if he did give the baby alcohol.

Rest in peace, little Shorn.

Toddler found wandering in Perth

The young boy was found on Belgravia Street in Belmont at midday on Friday 8th February.

Unidentified child found wandering alone

BOY IDENTIFIED AFTER BEING FOUND ON STREET

A three year old boy has been found wandering the suburban streets of Perth WA more than a day ago. He hasn’t been able to tell police who his parents are or where he lives. The boy was found around noon on Friday, and no one has come to claim him. How sad for this little kid, his parents or guardian isn’t even worried he’s missing!

He’s currently being cared for by the Department for Child Protection and neither the police nor the DCP have received any reports of a missing child. Authorities raised the alarm after 24 hours of him being missing, since no one else bothered to. Police have now identified his family, but why haven’t they come to claim him yet??? Are they too drug addled to go collect their child? Is that why he was missing in the first place, because his parents were sleeping off the booze/drugs? The boy remains in the care of the DCP while a full investigation is being carried out.

The poor little boy has limited speech and wasn’t able to tell the police his own name or that of his guardians/parents. I don’t know whether he has autism, he’s just shy or that he’s been neglected so he hasn’t developed language skills. Three year olds aren’t really aware that their parents have names other than “Mum” or “Dad” and that all they know is they live in a blue or yellow house with flowers.

It just makes me shudder to think of the things that could’ve happened to this little boy while he was wandering. He could have been hit by a car. A dog could have eaten him. A pedophile could have taken him. He could have fallen and hurt himself. There’s still coverage on the news about the James Bulger case and all those awful things that those little monsters did to him 20 years ago. Poor Denise Bulger-Fergus locked her other kids away from the world because of what happened to James. Why someone would just leave their kid ripe for the picking is beyond me.

Narky Narkle kills toddler

Man in court over murder of WA toddler

Man in court over Perth toddler murder

Screams at dead boy’s unit: neighbour

Screams at dead boy s unit: neighbour

No-one’s ever going to forget or forgive you for killing an innocent child!

Unfortunately, it’s the same-old, same-old. Mum goes out, leaving child with c***-plug. Child is mysteriously injured or dies while under c***-plug’s “care”. Same-old, same-old.

Wayne Murray Narkle (22) is no exception. His girlfriend Kerry Bodney went out one night, leaving her 2 year old toddler son in her home in Perth WA with the Nark. When she returned, the little boy was unconscious. She ran frantically to a neighbour’s place for help, and an ambulance was called. The toddler was taken to the hospital, but died on arrival :'( It’s not clear how the little boy died, but the doctors, police and the coroner know it wasn’t an accident.

The Nark was arrested at a unit in Bassandean, in Perth’s east. He has been charged with the murder of the little boy and was remanded in custody to appear in court today. He has not entered any pleas and the case has been adjourned till March. You’d better not fucking plead “not guilty”, douchebag. You killed that baby and you don’t get to plead for freedom. You’d better hope that you miraculously die in your sleep before you get to prison. They don’t take kindly to baby-killers in the big house. They’re going to jam that stupid gangsta glove up your arse. With your hand in it.

Kerry is heartbroken over the murder of her son (he can’t be named for cultural reasons and I’ll explain why in a minute). She’s posted on Facebook that “My son’s the only one in my heart, the rest is empty,”.

Tributes are flowing in on her page for her son, “My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to Kerry Bodney on the horrible loss of her baby boy . . . I wouldn’t wish her pain on anybody. RIP baby boy,”- Emma

“My heart goes out to Kerry Bodney on the horrible loss of her little boy, words cannot explain how she is feeling. May He Rest In Peace Beautiful Little Soul.”

“So sad at this time that your beautiful lil boy left so soon. Stay strong,” – Shauna

It was clear that everyone loved this little boy. So what fucking right did this shitstain have to take him away from his loving mum and family? He was probably jealous. Jealous that the boy wasn’t his. That he was “taking up his girl’s time”. That he got in the way of his partying. For whatever pathetic and petty reason this shitbag had for killing the toddler, He. Did. Not. Deserve. It.

*Side note: In Aboriginal culture, once a person dies, their name isn’t said anymore. This is because it’s believed that the person’s spirit won’t move on if  the person’s name is mentioned or photos of them are shown..I did find this photo for us to look at and remember the little boy, see how different he was to the shit-stain who took his life because he wasn’t “his”. Seeing that cute, cheeky look on his face makes me even more angry that this piece of shit killed him.

Follow the Moon, Little Boy.
