Bad Parent Sighting: “Not my responsibility, mate”

8 YEAR OLD BOYS CAUGHT ATTEMPTING TO START FIRE IN EAST MAITLAND

Two child firebugs, both eight, caught in Newcastle

Eight-year-old boys caught trying to light a bushfire

We haven’t had a Bad Parent Sighting for a while. I also like to call them the alliterative term “Piss Poor Parenting”. This one was seen in the newspaper and on the news, making excuses to try to absolve himself of parental duty.

For the last couple of weeks, New South Wales has been burning. We have had severe bushfires, brought on by hot, windy and dry conditions. Some of these fires were started by natural causes such as dry lightning. Others by accident, such as hot exhaust pipes on dry grass or electricity wires arcing in strong winds. However, a few of these fires were deliberately lit.

The case I want to bring to your attention happened recently. Two 8 year old boys were caught near East Maitland in the Hunter Valley, trying to light a fire around 7.30pm. They had piled up dry grass and dead leaves and were trying to light the heap with a cigarette lighter. It was only by sheer luck that the lighter didn’t work.

Police could not press charges due to the boys’ age (age of criminal responsibility in Australia is 10 years) and released them into the care of their parents (who were obviously not caring for them as they were wandering the bush at 7.30pm at night). When interviewed by news sources, the father of one of the boys had the hide to say this:

“I have 6 kids, I can’t be following all of them around the streets all the time. It’s not my responsibility, mate.”

What the fuck. They’re YOUR children! You chose to not wear a condom or get a vasectomy and beget 6 children. You have to live with that choice. What your child did was almost attempted murder. You should be begging for forgiveness and disciplining your child.

6 kids and unwilling to care for them. Old Mate needs to stand up once in a while. Same with his missus. Get a new hobby. And no, getting drunk down at your local pub while your unsupervised litter run rampant doesn’t count as a constructive way to pass one’s time. Some suggested hobbies would be getting a job in a nuclear reactor, keeping your phone in your underwear, getting kicked in the balls, wearing tight underwear, getting cardiovascular disease or diabetes etc. See where I’m going with this?

Mother dearest of the other boy involved said that her boy will be “grounded for a week”. Yeah, that’ll show him! NOT! “Grounded” = more likely playing Xbox while Mother also goes down to the pub and drinks away her welfare check. At least she took some responsibility for him unlike the aforementioned useless Old Mate. But this lack of proper discipline and consequences is probably what led to this kid thinking he could do whatever he liked, with no consequences to his actions whatsoever.

The police involved with the case, being mandated reporters, have reported both kids to be “at risk” to DoCS (Social Services). They were unsupervised and getting into a potentially very dangerous situation because their parents couldn’t be bothered to keep an eye on them. This is a small victory for the people of Maitland, who could have lost everything because of two very silly little boys and their inept breeders. Once you get the attention of DoCS (whether you really are abusing your kids or not), it’s very hard to get them out of your life. Social services will be investigating these useless people very thoroughly.

Sorry for the long ramble, but we have had fires close to us and it was very scary. To think that people could have lost their homes and livelihoods because of poor breeding just makes my blood boil.

Discussion point: Should parents be held responsible for their children’s criminal actions, if the child is under the age of criminal responsibility? Perhaps some fines to diminish the breeders’ pub money might straighten them out.

Unsupervised toddler unconscious after drinking mystery liquid

Liquid in soft drink bottle leaves boy unconscious

As you all know, I don’t have children. I have no interest in having children (I had an Implanon put in last year to prevent that). But I know poor parenting when I see it. And if it’s painfully obvious to the child-free, it should stick out like Uluru in the middle of Sydney to the authorities.

A 3 year old boy is unconscious after drinking from a soft drink bottle he found in the street outside his home. According to authorities, the boy was playing with his brother outside a block of flats in Melbourne’s CBD about 8pm yesterday when he found the discarded bottle. Being three years old, and possibly not knowing any better, he thought it was a yummy drink and took a swig. His parents called 000 after he became seriously ill from drinking the random liquid, and when the ambos arrived minutes later, he was unconscious. The ambos managed to stabilise him at the scene and took him to the Royal Children’s hospital where he was in a serious condition.

Authorities are performing tests on the liquid and the boy to determine what was in the liquid. They suspect it may be GHB – a date rape drug. However, police are not investigating the matter.

This story is like a “Can you spot what’s wrong with this picture?” So let’s play… Firstly the boys were unsupervised out on the street. The brother is obviously too young to be adequately supervising a younger sibling, since the little boy managed to drink out of a random bottle. Secondly it was 8pm. Shouldn’t the boys have had dinner, had a shower and be in bed by then? Big Dog comes on at 7:30 to tell the boys and girls to go to bed. Thirdly and most importantly, where the fuck were the parents? They did seek help for the little boy, but why did they let them play out on the street unsupervised just after sunset? All of this could’ve been prevented if the parents had routine and supervision for their children. It’s unbelievable that the cops aren’t investigating, when this was a clear case of child endangerment and neglect.

Hopefully DoCS or DHS or whatever the fuck it’s called now will stop by and help these breeders fly straight. GHB could’ve easily killed the little boy. It could’ve been piss, alcohol or acid and the outcome could’ve been devastating. All because some dopes wouldn’t supervise their kids. Judging by “block of flats” it may well be a public housing lot. Would explain a few things, unsupervised kids, drugs, apathetic parents. Would love for a ‘tard-defender to come here and try to “explain” this gross act of idiocy.

Moronic Melissa left her kids home alone

Mom who left kids alone faces endangerment charges

At least she got her makeup did for the mugshot!

That purty party princess up there is Melissa Melba George (40) of East Lansdowne, Delaware County, Philadelphia. She’s being charged with two counts of child endangerment after she left her two kids home alone for a few days.

The MIA moron disappeared for several days, while her two kids aged 9 and 11 were left to fend for themselves. Her own children reported her missing and a missing person bulletin was issued in the local paper. Shortly after the article was published, the cops started getting reports of sightings of Miss Melissa in the area and she shortly returned voluntarily. Why, were people asking her about her children?

Those poor kids! Imagine coming home to find that your mum isn’t back from work or isn’t in the house full-stop. No note, no phone call, no nothing. Then having to fend for yourselves for a few days, all the while worrying where your mum is. At least they hadn’t starved, there appeared to be food in the house. I still get anxious if my mum doesn’t come back from somewhere at the time she said she’d be back. All sorts of thoughts run through my head about accidents and stuff. I couldn’t imagine what would be going on with these two poor kids. And especially because she didn’t have a reason for her abrupt departure. I reckon she’d had enough of her two kids and just wanted to escape for a few days.

The two kids are now in the custody of Delaware County Children and Youth Services.

Moronic Mommy Monday: methtard mum lets toddlers wander

Police: Toddlers wandered outside while woman slept

April J. Ray, 31, is facing charges of child neglect, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This bright-eyed and bushy-tailed beauty is April J. Ray (31) of Winter Haven, Flori-duh. She let her three toddlers wander through her yard and the street because she valued her beauty sleep over the safety and wellbeing over her children.

April’s neighbours spotted her three kids wandering around the street alone and not wearing any clothes. They went and knocked on the door and then yelled inside to see if anyone was home. When April didn’t respond, they called 911. Police turned up and found the door wide open, with two of the three toddlers back in the yard, and like her neighbour they tried to get April’s attention too. When they didn’t succeed, they went inside and found April fast asleep in bed. At 5pm!

The cops yelled and shook April awake, and found yep you guessed it, prescription drugs, drug paraphenalia including a meth pipe. The house was a complete dump, with clothes, dirty dishes and faeces all over the floor. I don’t know whether she had any animals to attribute the crap to, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were human poo-poo there too.

Some neighbours are actually defending her! One neighbour, Alamary Johnson, said “it was a mistake that anybody could make and yeah it was a crucial mistake but thank god nothing did happen”. Um excuse me? Have you been smoking what April’s been smoking? In what universe could shit on the floor, drugs and unsupervised toddlers be in any way a “mistake”? Sounds like we’ve just found April’s smoking buddy! Only dipshit druggies would find this an acceptable way to live and raise children! She only thinks this is a “mistake” because her bosom buddy and her other half of the druggy duo got caught by the fuzz!

Thank god none of the toddlers got hurt and they’re now in the care of family. April has been charged with child neglect, possession of meth, and possession of drug paraphenalia. She’s now in Polk County Jail.

Thanks go to Chelsea for the tip, and sorry to Malevolent April that this idiotic piece of shit has the same name as you.

Update: I stand corrected on the location, Polk County is in Flori-DUH not California. You’ll have to excuse me as I’m not from the US so I’m not up there with states and locations. Thanks to Buffettgirl for pointing that out <3 Aussie Sabbath

Toddler tumbles from window in Sydney

Sydney toddler in coma after window fall

Poor baby, where were her parents?

There’s not much on this one, but a 3 year old girl has been taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital after she fell from a first floor window. The girl broke through a flyscreen of an open window in her northern Sydney home and tumbled out, hitting an awning before falling to the ground around 1pm (AEDT) yesterday. She’s been treated at the scene by paramedics and was taken to Westmead suffering head injuries. She is in a serious but stable condition, and in an induced coma with a ventilator to control her breathing. An old friend of mine who was in a car crash years ago tells me that being in a coma is like a very deep sleep and that doctors induce a coma to give the body a “time out”so that the mind won’t remember the trauma. That’s a nice thought and I hope this little girl pulls through. In the meantime, dream of unicorns and princesses baby doll.

Now where were her parents? This was a completely preventable incident and they should be held accountable for what happened. Firstly the little girl should have been supervised. That’s a no-brainer. Little kids can and do get into everything and don’t seem to know what’s safe and what’s dangerous. Secondly, she shouldn’t have been playing near the window, open or closed. Her injuries could’ve been so much worse if she’d crashed through glass.

Inner-city Sydney is made up of mostly blocks of flats (apartments) and there have been past cases of children falling from windows. Some children survived. Others weren’t so lucky. It’s entirely preventable through supervision and taking proper safety precautions.

Samantha Jackson is suffers from methtarditis

Auburn woman arrested on child abuse charges

See that skank there… The one with the pitiful look on her meth face?  That is 23-year-old Samantha Jackson, methtardious maximus, from Auburn, CA.  Jackson was arrested after an anonymous caller tipped off deputies to Jackson’s children playing outside unsupervised while meth mommy was in her apartment “allegedly” (fuck, I hate that word) shooting up drugs.

Not only did shooting up meth take priority over supervising her children, apparently this bitch doesn’t clean house either.  I thought meth got you all speedy and made you do shit like house work.  Jackson’s abode was described as “extremely dirty” with old food covering the floor and clothes and garbage strewn about.  ICK.  Officers found Jackson’s 4-month-old daughter strapped in a car seat in front of the TV – I guess that was a better place for her than her crib, which was being used to store more garbage, clothes, and a fucking lawn chair.

Jackson was arrested on suspicion of felony child endangerment likely to cause great bodily pain, felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of hypodermic needles.  Two men were also found inside the apartment, but there is no word on who they were or whether or not they were arrested (as I believe they should be).

Jackson had two other children (aside from the 4-month-old) – A 2-year-old daughter and malnourished 4-year-old son who was taken to be hospitalized for sores on his legs.  All three children have been placed into foster care.  I’m hoping that it’s a safer, cleaner, and more loving environment.  Hell, being raised by spider monkeys would be safer, cleaner, and more loving.

Thanks go to Deena for posting this in the Open Thread.  Special thanks go to the anonymous caller.  I believe that he or she may possibly be responsible for saving the lives of these children.
