Florida Breeder charged when 13-year-old runs over his 6-year-old daughter

David Courson

Bond Denied For Man Charged In Daughter’s Death:

38-year-old David Courson of Monticello, Florida, has been charged with manslaughter in the January death of his 6-year-old daughter Becca. Police allege that Courson was letting a 13-year-old drive his truck when the accident happened. They say that Courson was drunk and liquor, weed and what sounds like to me were homemade redneck fireworks, i.e., a bomb.

And oh yeah the 13-year-old was not his daughter but he’s been arrested for allegedly having sex with her.

With Courson’s wife listening in court on Monday, the prosecutor read some of those messages including one from Courson to the girl about his wife.

“I think she’s jealous of you, you’re everything she is not…pretty, sexy and smart,” said the message.

There was also this exchange between Courson and the girl about their sexual encounter and what Courson’s wife would think about it.

“If she knew what had happened in her bed she would need counseling,” said Courson. “It was on her side of it too,” the girl replied. “Ha, ha, ha all she would need is sound effects,” Courson replied.

So drunk redneck letting his 13-year-old squeeze drive the truck that killed his daughter. Did I forget anything? Oh yeah. His wife may or may not be standing by her man.

Following his arrest last month his wife told us she was supporting her husband.

After court, we asked her if she still was and she referred us to David’s lawyer.

If this story was any more classy I’d have to rent a tux.

This story makes me want to break out the old chestnut of you need a license to own a dog but any idiot can have a kid.

Thanks to Cynthia for the tip.

8-year-old boy killed in police chase

Father Leads Police on Chase, 8 Year-old Son Dies:

32-year-old Zabdiel Arciga was allegedly driving a Lexus at 120 mph/193kph through Seaside, California. When police pursued the car tried to exit the highway and hit a guardrail destroying the car. Arciga only had minor injuries however his 8-year-old son, Isaiah, was killed in the crash.

So not only was he driving at speeds where the slightest mistake can cause a car to go flying into the air he was doing it while his own 8-year-old son in the car. To make matters worse the car wasn’t even his. It was lent to him by a friend because Arciga had fallen on hard times. Considering Arciga had previous DUI arrests I would not have lent him my car with the leaky transmission let alone a Lexus.

Driving at that speed with your kids in the car doesn’t make you a man. It makes you child killer.

Thanks to DD for the tip.

Carmen Kills a Child

Sorry for waiting so long to post this. April sent me a tip about this on Monday, but until today, I could not find an article saying that the driver had a child of her own – only that she had killed someone else’s child.

Anyway, the innocent looking, sweet-faced thing at the top is Carmen Huertas. On Saturday Night (actually midnight-thirty Sunday morning), the drunken sot got behind the wheel of her Mercury Sable, with seven little girls, all between the ages of 11 and 14, riding as passengers. One of the girls was her daughter. Another was 11 year old Leandra Rosado. At the time of the wreck Carmen’s blood alcohol level was .132.

There are several levels of ‘wrong’ to this incident, so I will take my time and discuss each of them. I am nothing, if not thorough…..

First, the girls were all at Huertas’ house for a sleepover being held for Huertas’ own 11 year old daughter, when Carmen decided to go to a party being held by her ex-boyfriend at his place. Am I the only person who sees the problem with this? Let’s see…I let my child invite over several friends, and THEN load them all up and take them to a party where alcohol will be served. Anybody besides me think this is a supremely bad idea? Anyone? Anyone? Ferris? I’m not sure if it’s illegal to take 11- to 14-year olds to a party where alcohol is being served, but it is certainly not wise. Or ethical. I wonder how many of the parents gave her permission to take their kids to a party, hmmm?

Second, the car that she loaded the seven children in was a Mercury Sable. Does anyone see a problem with that? Would it help if I told you that three of the girls were thrown from the car when it wrecked? Would anybody like to guess why? That’s right! There are only five seats in a Mercury Sable. That means only five seat belts. Three of the girls were riding unrestrained. Wait! – isn’t there a law that says children under the age of sixteen have to be buckled in? Yeah, I thought so. So now in addition to being irresponsible, she is now breaking the law.

Third, upon arrival at the party, she decided that drinking was OK, even though she knew she was going to be responsible for getting the children home later. Again, the drinking in and of itself may not have been illegal, but it was definitely not a smart choice.

Fourth, after drinking herself stupid, she piled all seven girls back in her Sable, three of them sans seat belts, and began the drive home. Who wants to guess whether driving drunk is legal in New York City? Yeah. It’s not. That’s two laws she’s broken, now. Plus four kinds of stupid.

But that’s not all – she also drove at speeds in excess of 80mph. I’m fairly sure the speed limit in NYC is not 80, as a matter of fact, I’d be surprised if it’s over 55. Another law broken, another level of idiocy. Where does it end? Unfortunately not there, because then Carmen’ own daughter began pleading with her mother to slow down. You would think that, as a mother, the pleas of her daughter might have some effect on Huertes, but they did not. The response of the tanked-up tramp was to laugh and say, “You think this is fast? Just wait until we get on the highway.” Absolutely sickening. You can find the entire timeline of the evening as reconstructed by witnesses here.

When the deadly drunk lost control of her car, it then rolled several times and slammed into a tree, ejecting three of the girls. See, kids….you see why there are seat belt laws? The three without seat belts flew from the car. If you ask me the woman should wrap her arms around her knees and kiss her own ass that she only killed ONE child that night. It could have been infinitely worse.

I’m sure Carmen then had the audacity to cry and look pitiful at the scene, hoping it would gain her some sympathy. She has been charged with driving while intoxicated, and vehicular manslaughter. I, personally, think she should be charged with murder. She knew her actions could kill someone, and she didn’t care. By my count, she is now up to four laws broken, and six ways to stupid.

Huertas sustained only a broken arm in the accident. No big surprise there. Usually those who drive drunk and kill others end up with the least injuries in the accident. All that alcohol relaxes them to the point that they just ‘flow with it’, and bounce instead of breaking. Too bad.

And now Carmen, who is in the hospital, has said she wants to kill herself. Can I get a great big, “AWWWWWW, poor baby!” Yeah, I didn’t think so. I hope they plaster her cell with photos of the little girl she killed, so she has to look at her every day for her entire sentence. I hope they are also kind enough to get a tape recording of Leandra’s father’s voice, listing all of the wonderful qualities his daughter possessed, and make Huertas listen to it every day, all day long, as well.

I’d like to thank April not only for the tip, but also for allowing me to use one of her favorite quotes in this article. She knows which one it is.
